Wisconsin officially sues Miami over Xavier Lucas

For those who recall the earlier threads on this subject, Wisconsin fans went on and on and on about how Xavier Lucas "STOLE MONEY".

Wisconsin did not file any criminal or civil complaint for that "theft".

That won’t stop them from repeating it over and over again because they can’t grasp what a pile of doo doo this whole saga is.

No payments on the rev-share deal until July 2025.

Query, what consideration did Wisconsin provide for the contingent rev-share contract?

My gues is zero-point-zero.

Suit appears to be a means for B10 to kill the transfer portal for players who sign with B10 teams.

They obviously don't want a fight with the NFL so they had Lucas, one year removed from HS, sign a 2-yr deal not a 3-yr deal. I would wager that they're trying to get '26 HS recruits to sign 3-yr contracts with the university.

Don't know **** about the legal merits of the case, but it's pretty transparent that they're attempting an end-run around the NCAA portal rules.

You can't enter the portal, because you've signed a multi-year contract with the university, and we will nip in the bud the Lucas enrolls direct to Miami exemption by suing Miami and making other schools skittish to repeat it.

This is the point that everyone seems to be missing and is the bigger concern rather than the lawsuit itself.
that and negative recruiting as a result of this BS lawsuit. Having other schools saying we're going to get put on probation for violating an imaginary rule. while nothing happens to a big sin school for directly ignoring an so called active NCAA rule. 😤

whiskey and the big working on bringing transfer fees to college ball. Not sure why but it's pretty funny they filed before the contract was even active.
