LT gets the credit (and rightfully so) but Banks and Carson weren't no joke...they'd knock your *** into yesterday as well...
Banks and Carson and Pepper and (Marshall and Burt) were really more the heart of the d than LT. That was a parcells 3-4 and the inside guys and SAM were what made it work. LT was the edge jack differentiator no one had an answer for. Not diminishing him but Parcells Ds were always about the brawn.

Harry Reasons was another ILBer....George Young was an excellent GM...
 
Looking back if Golden would have just go a competent DC things would be different. Compared to the last couple coaches his Offenses are miles better. Which isn't really saying much.

We might still have Alfred Golden as HC if he started with and kept a Manuela Diaz type DC.

Think about that.

Great posts on this thread. I grew up an Eagles fan in the era of Gang Green and that NYG discussion was like a trip down memory lane.
