Be happy, be upset. Want Manny fired or want Manny extended. These points are all up for debate.

What is NOT up for debate is that our recruiting will benefit from winning 6 or 7 games As opposed to 3 or 4. No big time recruit wants to play for a 3-9 program. But you can sell a 7-5 program to recruits. And recruits have to see that is is freshmen and sophomores doing the heavy lifting. that also sells recruits.

Ideal situation is recruits believe UM has talent and can win as this will be the case even with a new coach. We have exposed our young talent, whether intentionally or not.

Which big time recruits are looking at us right now? And which ones will suddenly get swayed over 3-4 extra wins?
Its not about the last few wins. It will be the body of work over a season and 6-6 or 7-5 keeps a kid listening.
3-9 or 4-8 and you don’t even get in the door.

This recruiting class is already shot no matter how many wins we get it’s too ******* late

we're 4-4 with zero indication that we will be anything different than what we've been the last 15 years. You guys are so used to not winning in this dog**** conference that when some finally come it has you in ******* la la land.

I know the recruiting board has been a wasteland lately but it seems the overall sentiment over certain recruits depends on the next hire. Not wins. Some aren't even an option if there is even the slightest possibility of Manny staying for next year.

You gotta believe that some of the recruits if they watched the Canes today and last week have to be thinking '**** I can get on the field early at Miami' especially if I am a defensive lineman or a linebacker. And offensive recruits have gotta be saying that looks like fun. Even offensive lineman might be thinking it may be fun and profitable to block well for that quarterback. They may think the U could win big I want to be a part of that. The U is so crazy that who knows we may land so folks we never thought we had a chance of grabbing.

Do you guys really not know how coaches sell to recruits? Have tryout ever heard the pitch they make? Every coach needs wins to sell a program.
Even the next coach will have an easier time selling a 7-5 program.
This is not about Manny. It is about the overall state of the program.

Next guy will have a chub if our offense keeps humming. Hit the portal for some experienced, P5 OL and boom!

It's too late especially with ESD. Even a new coach will have a hard time salvaging a class this far back. Wins makes no difference for recruiting at this point. The start of our season already turned away a lot of our targets.

It’s fair to say but same time we were the same team last year and landed what’s obviously been a legit class

A lot more to recruiting than a few wins for sure

Any D player left on the board should be licking their chops to come here, they have a great shot at starting right away next year

We had covid working to our advantage. A lot of kids did not want to leave home.

Fair enough

We’ve always been able to cobble a class or two here and there

Problem is, like what’s about to happen this year, is we follow up a good one with a total dud
