Holding all other things equal, how many games do we need to win, for winning alone to have to positive impact on recruiting (includes HS and portal)?

It won’t have as a big of an impact on 2024 unless we win 10+ games and be in the convo for the post season. All this talk about “we better win 8 games to improve our class” is wish casting; I think that’s the number we need to just keep the players we have and add a few leans (if we have any).

10-2 to impacts recruiting this year.

I predicted 8 and thats a successful season imo but i dont see major flips happening for this class, i think it will help alot for next years recruiting tho.

With this nil era the big flips are less likely than before, plus we’re competing with some elite teams and/or heavy bags for the elite players so it becomes even more less likely to flip some guys. But besides flips for the high rated guys 8 wins can land us some good players

If Mario is the recruiter we are told he is, 9 games is more than enough to sell hope and get a couple of good flips for this year and make next year a big year in recruiting. 4 game improvement with a likely huge improvement on offense and defense. Look what FSU is doing off of a 9 win season. If Memphis Mike can put together this kind of class while being an absolute weenie, Mario should be able to pull off something similar.

People said FSU was poor. Now they say Miami is poor. An elite recruiter that knew we were moving from a one man “show” to a Collective should be able to fend off that noise….

Win 9. Put the money in the bank and Mario may need a Norvellian strategy of using that money to keep players, hit the portal hard for high end players and then use that and the record to go heavy for HS next year…

9

Beat A&M.
Close strong by beating FSU, UL, and BC
Win the bowl game.

A season similar to ‘16 serves us better than a ‘17-type season.

If the insiders on our board are to be believed, we still have the money. If we can win 9 games and have a respectable NIL, there's no reason we won't be consistently in the top 10 for HS recruiting and a very hot commodity in the portal. Just need to win this year and the rest will take care of itself. We as fans would be ****ed with 8 wins, but honestly, a recruiter of Mario's caliber could sell that as positive momentum lol.

We'll know by the first game what kind of season it will be. If they're having to make excuses again, it's going to be a long season.

8 wins still lands us a top 10 class (#9 or #10). Pair that with another top 10 portal class, and now we're cookin'.

Mario is going to have to win 9 games consistently to make the impact in recruiting that lands us top 5-7 classes consistently.

I do think our money isn't dried up, the money just wants to see Mario show them something that's not going 5-7 lol show them improvement and something to get excited for, and the money will come back.

Considering what has happened to CF landscape these past few weeks, the urgency to win has now jumped from Y4/5 to Y2.

Not saying CFPO this year, but Miami has to get back to prime time viewership.

The only way that happens is top 10-ish ranking.

Need 10 wins and a willingness to atleast match the offers we consider “overpaying”. No kid is going to take a few hundred thousand less to come here. Especially kids with no ties to the area or program. Maybe if we make it to the title game and have guys projected to go 1st round.

This. If our recruiting strategy is to impress and win over kids with our winning abilities, then we'll need to win something that will leave an impression.

To that end, nobody is going to care if we win 8 or even 9 games. A lot of teams do that and do it consistently, it's not a big deal. It just SEEMS like a lot of wins to us because we're pathetic. We would need to win 10+ and the conference IMO just to be in the winning discussion.

Either that, or win 8 and stop pinching pennies and PAY **** THE SUCK TAX. Bags always talk louder than anything else

We need 9 wins to change the narrative and give Mario some ammunition. Less than 8 wins means we remain mired mediocrity for the foreseeable future.

I don’t disagree but same time, and this is no excuse making, but the vibe from the coaches so far has been a lot of trying to figure it out as far as what works best with this group

So I agree we will know a lot early, I hope to see this group playing its best ball late in the season as well
