I know many "fans" here want to see Maimi fail so they can be right about Golden and get him fired.
Holy s***. It's impossible to take you seriously when you write something this absurd. You legitimately come off as someone who works for a UM athletic department that's more concerned with intelligence-insulting PR spin than fielding a dominant, successful, or even remotely competitive football program.
What's more realistic? Narcissistic supporters wanting to be right about a coach's failures so they can say I told you so? Or passionate fans who love Miami football and see...
- A coach with an identical record to Will Muschamp (28-21 in four years) against far easier opposition.
- Yet another embarrassing late-season collapse under Golden's watch.
- The worst defense and special teams this program has seen in a quarter century, for which he's primarily responsible since this is his defense and he is the special teams coach.
- Fourth quarter scoring defense ranked in the 100s and second half scoring defense ranked in the 80s.
- Frog stances.
- Three-man rushes.
- Reacts to in-game adversity with passivity over aggression. Never adjusts properly and gets his s*** pushed in consistently in the second halves of once-competitive games.
- Infuriating stubbornness on all fronts.
- Games where we're so drastically outcoached that it's clear as day for even the most uneducated fan to see (Louisville, GT, Nebraska)
- Poor clock management, i.e. timeouts to start drives and out of dead-ball situations.
- An offense that operates at a snail's pace, which is likely intentional on Golden's part to try to hide the ineptitude of his defensive philosophy. Spoiler: It hasn't worked and never will.
- Continued recruiting failures, ranging from an inability to keep anywhere near enough top talent home, an unacceptable blue-chip ratio, neglect of far too many UM-caliber players from our own backyard, etc. And it's only going to get worse if he isn't fired.
What you inexplicably describe as an anti-Golden agenda is in actuality much-deserved outrage from a livid fan base that realizes how dramatically his continued presence at our beloved program is destroying UM football.
