Winning a game in conference

Canes fans are the worst.

These injuries are getting ppl playing time that we going to be using in the future. They’re getting valuable mins. B Smith is growing because X is gone.

Y’all worried about a year that was going to be a wash anyway. There’s a lot of mid on this roster and it’s time to move on from it.
I get the point you are trying to make, my only issue is its a ****** stupid one.

Citizen and Chaney been gone before season started.

George ain’t did anything yet. Colby has emerged because of the injuries.

I don’t hold Zion in as high regard as others. Never seen the 1st rd ppl talk about.
agreed on Zion, very good at pass protection, not so much on run blocking......

I was at the game. TVD dominated the game. ACC officials did all they could to keep VT in the game, 17 penalties is criminal especially when you go in the game as the least penalized in the conference. Miami will go as far as TVD will take them.

Without three starters on the OL, three of the top five Rb’s, three of the top five wr’s and your starting cb is not a gimme. Then mix in losing the go to guy Mallory in game and Arroyo already being out. There’s already no guarantees with conference games especially when you mix in the injuries on an already thin team. The cherry on top of all the injuries is a struggling OL that couldn’t even snap the ball on time most plays because of communication issues caused by noise in a tough environment. Yet we still pulled it out. I won’t apologize for a win. I’m not delusional enough to think we can overcome those injuries when all off season I said this team was a deck of cards that couldn’t handle many injuries. No matter what you think of our ” blue chip rating” this isn’t a very deep or talented team ( And no there’s no excuse for losing to MTSU).

If this team can just hold on to late October early Nov we could be somewhat healthy for the last few games and bowl. As I said after UNC “ I only care about getting better every week“. Keep taking positive steps and guys keep stepping up.

It wasn’t pretty but a win is a win.
I made a post very similar to this yesterday. If we can build off this and also get a little healthier each week, we can feel good going into the FSU game.

Yes

I’m happy Gattis didn’t let his ego get in the way of adapting. He also deserves some credit for Colby’s acquisition and emergence. Amazing we scored and held on despite our complete lack of depth.

Defense continues to be generally a positive outside of the coverage busts. Busts are correctable. We are getting pressure with 4 pretty consistently and doing ok against the run.

I prefer this style of defense to the blitz happy overly aggressive style. I can make a whole post about this based on my own experiences.

Ill take it that you will post less after that hot poRst take.
A lot of those injuries were a plus for us.

Parrish & K5 only ones that really matter.

The only thing I say is try and keep the games close and try and steal some of these games. There are no guarantees on this schedule. Every week gonna be a dogfight

And that’s how it should’ve been from day one, instead of forcing him into a system that didn’t fit his strengths and basically telling him in College Station, “Sorry, but we don’t trust you enough to put the ball in your hands in the red zone.” Glad all that nonsense didn’t completely destroy his confidence. The coaching staff finally woke up and made adjustments during the bye week. As others have posted in this thread, we just need to see that things are heading in the right direction.

TVD's put up huuuge #' s the last 2 weeks resulting in 44 pts..in 2 games. Ran VT OFF THE FIELD with a dominating performance in the 1st half yesterday. Netting a disproportional 17 point lead. In a game that somehow we could have lost. What gives?

Well done.

The team is beat up for sure and it’s always good to get a win but they barely beat one of the worst teams in the country. All I need to see is growth throughout the season. Clearly more talented than Duke this coming week but obviously that never matters with this team. 7 wins at this point would be surprising.
