And I'm good heading into next season.
We aren't getting anywhere until we get a new OL and ST coach. Doesn't matter if Bill Walsh is calling plays, the OL is buttcheeks.
Getting a new OC who can choose his OL coach should be the #1 priority.Getting a new OL coach should be the #1 priority.
Agreed. Searles blows. And I hope Richt noticed that today's victory was in large part due to winning the Special Teams battle.

Mork didn’t choose well last time.
Which would mean he hasn’t hired an OC with autonomy... which means we will continue to suck.Richt is going to make that hire regardless.
Every single god**** game we should have the opportunity for several big plays on ST. Even if it isn't a TD return, at least pick up chunks of yardage. Rick was notorious at UGA for letting their ST be a dumpster fire. Bottom line, his entire career he has virtually ignored 1/3 of the game of football. Why won't he fix it? Simplest answer is the correct one. Because Rick isn't a very good HC. It's a lock we'll see Hartley coaching ST again next year.
Look; I know we just beat VT, but I’m pumping my brakes on the optimistic future. Until we beat a P5 team with a winning record (next week Pitt), nothing changes with how I view Richt & staff.
An OC is not happening, unless Brown is promoted to actually calling plays (which I’m not thrilled with since he’s from Richt’s twig), but that ST & OL move needs to happen ASAP, and if this happens, I may feel better. This OL is still very putrid and way too many blown assignments and dumb penalties.
We go into next season with this same system and staff and it will be the exact same results: Beat FCS, G5, and P5 teams with losing records, get smoked by all other P5 teams.
