Win out, hire OC, sign top 20 class

We aren't getting anywhere until we get a new OL and ST coach. Doesn't matter if Bill Walsh is calling plays, the OL is buttcheeks.

Agreed. Searles blows. And I hope Richt noticed that today's victory was in large part due to winning the Special Teams battle.

Oline recruiting is trash. We get no help this year just guys that are bodies. If you assume freshman oline dont start that means we suck for 3 more years. Is that cool?

Every single god**** game we should have the opportunity for several big plays on ST. Even if it isn't a TD return, at least pick up chunks of yardage. Rick was notorious at UGA for letting their ST be a dumpster fire. Bottom line, his entire career he has virtually ignored 1/3 of the game of football. Why won't he fix it? Simplest answer is the correct one. Because Rick isn't a very good HC. It's a lock we'll see Hartley coaching ST again next year.

Sadly this is true. All my UGA buddies said Richt never gave a rat's a$$ about ST. However UGA always has good punters and kickers. So they never lost the field position battle and never lost easy points on FG's. Richt has to be pretty ****ed about the punting situation no matter what his track record says.

Look; I know we just beat VT, but I’m pumping my brakes on the optimistic future. Until we beat a P5 team with a winning record (next week Pitt), nothing changes with how I view Richt & staff.

An OC is not happening, unless Brown is promoted to actually calling plays (which I’m not thrilled with since he’s from Richt’s twig), but that ST & OL move needs to happen ASAP, and if this happens, I may feel better. This OL is still very putrid and way too many blown assignments and dumb penalties.

We go into next season with this same system and staff and it will be the exact same results: Beat FCS, G5, and P5 teams with losing records, get smoked by all other P5 teams.

Actually think Rick will hire Mike Bobo. He's going to get fired from CSU and has health issues so probably not going to be a HC again. Rick can convince himself that he wouldn't be giving up playcalling because he's bad at it, he'd do it because he's helping an old friend. I think Rick can stomach that.

Bobo was qb coach for Murray, Greene, and Stafford. So while Rick gets credit as the qb whisperer, it was actually Bobo. Might do wonders for Jarren and Kosi.

Bobo runs no huddle pro style offense. Would be much better than what we have now.

On the other hand, Bobo doesn't really believe in misdirection, same as Rick.

Oh well. Can't have everything.

Winning is always better than losing, but are people actually getting optimistic here? Nothing we do the rest of this season erases the ridiculousness of having lost to those beat-*** teams we lost to. And don't bother telling me they're actually pretty good, they aren't. Not compared to us. They just aren't, and it's only horrifying mismanagement that lost those games.

Again, winning > losing. Winning out > not winning out. But no matter what happens, we've got serious problems that need to be addressed or we'll be sitting right here next year. Don't let a win fool you into thinking an OL coach is the answer. We need a complete overhaul of the offensive and ST staff. Nothing less will do.

The OC is crucial because even if our OL is not what we'd like, great offensive minds know how to minimize weaknesses and use what we have. Then as you win, better recruiting will follow. No we won't be at Clemson or Alabama's level immediately because we just don't have their personnel, but we should be a lot better than we are.
