We need to stop using that formation on defense if we are never going to blitz the linebackers. Maybe this is the game they finally do.

I hope so because that would help our defense immensely as ****** as we've been tackling in the quick game with open space..

Do you mean they don’t run a west coast offense? They absolutely get the ball out quickly. I’d say as quickly as any team I’ve watched. I can find the numbers, if you’re interested. An inordinate amount of throws go to a presnap read on free access throws or the like. Carr is getting the ball out easily before 3 seconds on average. About 60% of his throws are under 10 yards. There are more numbers that support this.

But we got to live with that because he’s needed. Hopefully Carr doesn’t get him in trouble. That said after doing something dumb like a Fr would he’ll make a veteran *** play coming from his zone jumping a route. Him and Poyser have to be better especially with tackling. We lost out on so many third and longs by missing easy tackles on second down.

Just another reason we need Fitzgerald at FS full time now imo.

Poyser at Both SS and Nickel, Dunnigan at SS, and Thornton at Nickel and actually rotate all 3 and leaning to playing the hot hand. All 3 competing for 2 roles. And he'll if Dylan Day is back he can maybe get some of that FS/SS work and Fitzgerald would move to nickel some plays....
