Wilson and Lightfoot.

They are going to run the same quick passing scheme we struggle with to negate our pass rush so i don’t expect a big game from our rushers just get your hand up in the passing lanes n keep contain

Can’t continue missing 22 tackles or we in trouble. Do your job and get them on the ground no bad angles. Put Bryce in center field
Love Fitz but I was disappointed in his play on the last UNC TD. He has Mack in the slot who just got cooked. Instead of shading toward Mack and staying in the middle of the field, which is where Edwards through it all night, he shaded to the sidelines. He should have helped Mack there. Let Edwards do something he hasn’t all night. Will say his lack of reps back there doesn’t help. Hope he gets better this game.

I know I’ve mentioned this technique in the past with other linemen. But if Wilson can manage to grab just a small amount of dirt (or tire pellets, depending on surface) from the ground and violently throw it into his opponent’s open eyes at the snap, I think he can get up to two sacks in this game.

Who has Notre Dame played against that has edges with our speed and explosiveness? I look back to 2017 and remember that Notre Dame offensive line that was soooo hyped up. They got shell shocked by our quickness on the D line because they didn't play anyone like that before us.

It is no different this year. They don't know what they're in for.

Lightfoot having one of the the strangest first team season you'll ever see.

He's going to hit double digit sacks in the regular season. Already 2 Forced Fumbles. One as clutch as they come.

But it still feels like he can/should be better.

Maybe that's a good thing.

He should have another 3 plus sacks this year. He's quietly had a really nice season.

I think he was playing through injuries and it slowed him down.

They do not run a quick passing scheme - they run the ball and drop back pass. Carry will check it down but they are a plodding, stubborn team that sticks to their system.

I love 25 but he had some real bad film against UNC. His eyes got him in trouble trying to be a hero rather than sticking to his assignment. Missed tackles too. But we got to live with that because he’s needed. Hopefully Carr doesn’t get him in trouble. That said after doing something dumb like a Fr would he’ll make a veteran *** play coming from his zone jumping a route. Him and Poyser have to be better especially with tackling. We lost out on so many third and longs by missing easy tackles on second down.

Yep. I’ll tell you what he doesn’t do well: play the pass on early downs. I’m trying to find a way to get him out of that. We cannot have teams hit us with 70+% passes on first downs with high efficiency. UNC absolutely dogged us.
9 drives me nuts, he’s lined up selling a blitz but everyone knows he’s dropping. Right at snap he takes a step in to further sell blitz as rb is hitting the flat with an in breaker to rub him. Sadly the rub wasn’t even needed. Hes already cooked.

That's been my assessment of him too this year. Inconsistent is probably the best way to put it but as a true fresh thrown into the fire that is expected.
