Will we cut down the penalties?

It’s not the calls against us, it’s the calls they ignored against ND.

And I thought last year the ACC refs had finally started calling balls and strikes.

These ******** tonight looked clueless and hesitant to upset ND. Why? They don’t pay your ******* check.

I haven’t seen anyone really discuss this much on the board and I think it’ll be extremely critical for us to do so in order to make the playoff. We’ve become so numb to back breaking, brain dumb penalties from our teams the past 20 years and last year was no exception. We ranked 118th in the country in penalties.. no bueno. I keep hearing how the culture has taken massive steps forward and I believe it has but when are we gonna see that start to translate on the field? The margin for good to great is razor thin and an area like penalties can be the ultimate difference.
Yeah if you remove refs from the game. You did see the tangible shift starting with the illegal block in the back on the punt return? The unsportsmanlike on the Love gang tackle and the phantom holding call they picked up? It’s the state of sports. It’s rigged.

That was an ACC crew. Hope It’s not a harbinger of things to come for us in league play. Yikes.

They actually did cut down on penalties. At least they didn't get baited into personal fouls like they would have in years past. The other ACC teams are true masters of that, though, so we'll see.

Miami played a clean game
How many false starts
Offsides? I don’t recall any

The unnecessary roughness calls were bull****
The PI was bull****
The hold was bull****

They played w great
Discipline from my perspective

On that note
That’s the ADs job
And Mario’s job to point out the disparities and force the acc to clean their act up

No because of the BS penalties they call on UM. A ND player literally grab a UM player by the face mask after the play, right in front of the ref and he just went to break it up. No flag. If UM does it, its a 15 yard penalty.

I don’t remember any “WHAT THE **** ARE YOU DOING” penalties on our guys?

Like the emotion and intensity of the game we’ve been good for at least one boneheaded dumb **** 15 yard penalty per game for years

If we cut our penalties by 2 per game...we could win a national title.

Its baked into the cake.
Good **** luck getting 2 penalties a game with ACC refs. They'll call them when they aren't even there because, you know, everyone knows Miami commits penalties.

We got called for some real phantom penalties in the game. That Poyser PI call was awful and sticks out. Refs were real trigger happy on those calls against Miami to keep Notre Dame in the game.

Out here realizing CFB26 is so real with how predictable the sim engine is in real life.

Refs were abysmal overall, zero argument there. I will say, I believe they technically got the call right on the unsportsmanlike penalty down by the goal line. From my understanding, in college, if you lose your helmet you have to stop pursuing the play. Because he kept going after the tackle, it's a penalty. "Player safety." Now, I'm taking my guy taking a penalty over allowing a touchdown, but not sure that's one we should gripe about when there were a dozen much more egregious calls that turned that game.

We're never shedding our reputation. This one is not entirely in our hands. I forget who it was, but we had a player whose helmet was yanked and a punch (or swing thrown) and he didn't react and no penalty was called. Had we done that or reacted, we're getting flagged. Unfortunately, we are judged by a different set of rules.
