I met him years ago at the Miami vs Arizona Super Regional when his boy played for Arizona. He looked less than pleased to be there.

If he's expecting FSU to be the program that knocks us off a cliff, he's an idiot. Ok, so it's well established that he's an idiot. I can see us losing to Alabama, and maybe another team to go 10-2. I can NOT see us with one or two losses late in the year losing to what might be the worst FSU team in my lifetime. Yes, even worse than last year. I have never seen a less talented FSU team.

Not a Miami fan (obviously) but if FSU beats Miami this year, Miami needs to close down the program. It’s over.

None of that will happen.

Miami wins all games (except Bama) and plays Clemson for a spot in the playoffs.

I've been on miami boards for 20 years. This past season was a gimme game. They had literally zero chance of beating us. Most of the time you're right though, usually the rivalry keeps it close
 
I don’t understand how most people here are turning their nose up at 9-3 like it’s impossible. Saturday is a 99% chance of a loss. You’re telling me you are 100% confident that we will go 10-1 the rest of the way? Manny has never beaten Mack. NC State will probably have their starting QB this year and a better defense. Late season, probably cold, trip to Pitt. And those are just the obvious trip ups.

I’m not saying 9-3 isn’t a failure bc it is, I’m just pointing out that it’s the most likely to happen scenario.

Not all up on Miami as you. But if Miami doesn’t make it to the ACC title game this year, then when? Isn’t the king QB going to be playing Sunday’s next year? Along with many others on offense/defense?

No King isn’t an NFL QB. Yes there is a bunch of NFL talent but they’re young. Most of the upperclassmen are just guys with a couple of talented ones sprinkled in. Unproven DE’s, unproven LBers, jags and above average talent until further notice at DT. Secondary seems to be the best part of the roster. T Rob should help a lot. Experienced but not special offensive line. Talent at receiver but other than Harley, none of it Is proven at this level yet. Rambo can hopefully be the guy he was in 2019. Talented TEs and running backs

I’m not sold on Manny as a head coach yet, but he made major upgrades on the staff. Everything this year is dependent on King and Lashlee having a full offseason. I’m withholding my Pom poms until I see it myself.

Well, guess my point, isn’t this THE year? Based on starters returned and a full offseason (unlike last year with no off season prep) etc?

Like this and the fact frankly the schedule favors Miami in most, if not every game except week 1. Which regardless if Miami wins or loses to Alabama, it’ll have 0 effect on their ceiling this year. Win out and you’re in the playoff.
