Will Richt get 4 or 5 years

What gets painful is if Richt steers an 8-5 / 9-4 result in 2019.

That's very likely to be "good enough" to keep him in the left seat going into 2021.

My other guess for this tragic comedy playing out before our eyes--Miami doesn't sign a top 20 recruiting class for next 3 years...at least.

I've go the same timeline I thought when he was hired:

- He'll get 3-4 years calling his own plays before he's forced to hire an OC
- After hiring an OC, that'll buy him another 3-5 years of "let's see what he can do with an OC" (shorter end if he hires a bad OC, longer end if he hires a good OC)

At Georgia he got 6 years of calling his owns plays, 9 years with an OC. It'll be a similar timeframe at Miami, just condensed

I think this is probably pretty accurate.

I don't disagree since the BOT does care and we have not started the air campaign yet. Does your opinion stay the same when he loses the next two games?
Read op message again. It states he stays regardless of results of next 2 games. Too many of you posters have difficulty in reading comprehension.

A top 20 recruiting class is fairly easy to achieve. We will be top 20 this year (even though that's not good enough)

Yes he has...Stop it...OL and STs have been a disaster for 2yrs...As bad as I've seen it in 43yrs..

Agreed. But the 10-3 season limited the pressure from fans and media for staff changes. Since this season is a ****show, everything is hitting the fan.

Our recruiting classes will continue to be very poor regardless who the next coach is. The Cane brand is tarnished and high school coaches and high school recruits know we have become a dumpster fire. The days of good recruiting classes are a thing of the past. We are destined to be a poor to average program for many years.

Yes, under no circumstance is he fired this year.

He could headbutt Frenk's wife after being caught doing forced baptisms in Lake Osceola of several UM ****** and Muslim undergrads while screaming:

"I'm NEVER hiring an OC!
I baptize you in the name of the Father,
and of the Son,
and of the Holy Spirit. Amen. I'm NEVER firing Searles either!!

....and he's still not getting fired this year.

When I read the title I thought Richt had been arrested, and charged with the brutal murder of a football program.

Whether he lasts a year or two more, the fundamental problem remains unchanged: an administration that doesn't know what it's doing.

Three years ago, everyone was jubilant when Folden got the axe. Look at us now. We are even worse.

When we were great, we succeeded despite the administration. If not for people like John Green (convinced the BOT not to drop the program), Schnellenberger, Jankovich, JJ, and Butch, what would Miami be? A nonentity in big-time college football. Just like we are now.

This. The problem goes deeper than the head coach. Everyone seems to think they can pick the next coach to win us a National title, but they're wrong. We no longer elevate coaches above their previous success and in some cases (right now) coaches do worse here.

He's signed until 2023. He's not getting fired at the end of this year. Or the end of next year. Or at the end of 20. AD is not going to pay that buyout after buying out Shannon and Golden.

We are stuck with him for another 3 season IMO. Just hope he can bounce back and win 9-10 games so the recruiting doesn't fall off the map and it is not a total rebuild like Frost at Nebraska.

Am predicting 6-6 regular season and bowl game who knows, depends on how strong opponent, could end up 6-7 or 7-6.

Do not see how next year can be anywhere near the disaster this year is to date. Even believe that team could pull off 10 wins next year looking at schedule depending on what staff changes are made offseason. See gators as loss and at least one other regular season and then what? Schedule better next year than this year and Malik gone( certainly not blaming him for everything) . Plus state loaded in all positions next year recruiting wise, and excellent start to that class so far could be immediate help at several positions.

Think Richt would want to coach 4-5 more years, but he knows as well as everyone else not happening if next year is a rerun of this.

One bowl projection has us vs. USC in Independence bowl

Next year will be Richt's last. But if Blake James isn't ushered out the door first, we will be in this exact same predicament 3 years after Richt is gone.

The new standard in big time football is year 3. If you have catastrophic system failure in year 3 at a marquee P5 program you should be fired. This season has been an absolute and complete catastrophic failure at every level. Stop the bleeding.

I wouldn't be surprised to see Richt retire amid Admin pressure to make changes & the brewing **** storm from the fan base.

This ain't Georgia. We won't quietly accept a middling program for 15 years.
