Will anybody try to make an argument that this Clemson team is the best ever?

Obviously the real answer is 01 Canes all day everyday and twice on Sunday but they did go 15-0 and had two blowout wins in the playoffs and a blowout acc championship win. Bamas biggest margin of defeat in the saban era was 14 before this game, blowing out bama literally never happens. Going into the game it was bama that people were thinking could make a case for greatest of all time, but now is it Clemson’s time for fun in the sun in that debate? Do you guys think this will be a question asked on the talk shows tomorrow and for the rest of time? I hope not cause imo it’s not even close 01 Canes beat them by 21+

I thought Auburn beat Bama bad one year?
 
Honestly I think Trevor Lawrence elevates all of them. Kid has been #1 player in the nation since 8th grade. Showed it tonight.
 
No they aren’t. Really good team, great scheme. Their WRs benefited greatly from guys falling in coverage. Clemson has a bunch of long and fast WR. Doubt they could get open vs us in 01. Also Bama moved the ball at Will. They had some questionable red zone calls that doomed them.
 
time will tell....let's see how many NFL draft picks this team has come 2022
 
In the 4th Qtr I threw it up on Facebook: "2001 Canes Remain Best College Team Ever." Clemson was impressive, but they really weren't in the conversation all year - while Paul Finebaum was blowing smoke all season about Bama.

Somebody needs to bombard his show tomorrow with 2001 Canes

Easily. They’ll have the #1 pick at qb. They have probably 15 first rounders on the team with all those 4-5 star guys. Only had two single digit games and both were against top 15 teams without their qb. And they beat two undefeated teams for the title by 70 points. That’s pretty solid.

they weren't in the conversation because espn was *********ing to bama-georgia meeting in both the sec championship game and the playoffs all year long. clemson had a slow start because they were figuring out bryant-lawrence and were pretty much untouchable after that.

they just handed the best coach of all time a 28-point loss in a title game when the worst he's ever lost by at bama before was 14. they absolutely belong in the conversation for the best team ever. the 01 canes will always be the most talented team ever, but this clemson team gives them a serious run for the best college team title.
 
I think both teams are in the discussion. Clemson, their DL and specifically Venables gives them a ahot against any team from anytime. The real surprise of their defense is their secondary, them boys rangy as ****. Their offense is only going to get better, but their DL will take a big hit this year. They will reload, but what they did when it got down to crunch time (Bama on 4th downs), winning like they did by whatever it was and smashing the Domers....they real.

Bama, I feel like they got comfortable. I feel like they thought it was in the bag after Georgia. They are missing the usual dogs on the DL. That offense though was stymied like never before even though they are loaded everywhere.

Probably see them both again next year.

Lawrence is the greatest QB prospect I’ve ever seen and their D-line is really **** good.

We’d win, but this Clemson team would give the 2001 Canes a **** of a game.
 
No. People were ready to say for about Alabama but not Clemson. This will go down as a under looked great team that exposed frauds.
