There's not a former UM reciever that had better hands than Reggie Wayne...
Agree 100%. We've had much more physically talented receivers, but Reggie had hands of absolute glue. There's not a former UM reciever that had better hands than Reggie Wayne...
Wayne in my opinion is the best possession Reciever in UM History.
But he was a possession WR....he was with the Colts as well....Harrison was the Big play guy...but RW was the better possession WR....Didn't have Tana's or Harrisons speed...While I agree with you, it's almost an insult to call him a possession receiver. Moss was the big play guy but Wayne wasn't exactly averaging 9 yards per catch while he was here either.
Then your expectations for the others' long term are very low.I wouldn't be surprised if he ends up being the best out of all the freshmen WR we have
Same thing with CagerDon't understand why he's still on the field with all the drops..
Call that the Cooney agenda.
Why Hightower and Ezzard don’t get time is bizzare.
Andre Johnson had hands of stone his Frosh yr.....Turned out pretty good..
Nope.Hightower is injured no?
I watched him workout with Dorsey off campus several times in 01 & 02Johnson had questionable hands his entire time here really. When he dis catch it though, look out.
The problem the entire time was his eyesight. Pre-draft, they identified the issue and the rest is history. I always found it odd we didn't catch that while he was here.

Loved CJ....Saw Reggie grow up. One of the best short-stops I'd ever seen. Always thought that had something to do with his great hands. His das was a head coach at a major program here in Nola but Reggie didn't even play football until high school - and then he went to John Ehret.
He only had a couple of offers and I thought Miami was the only serious one. Back then Curtis Johnson (Miami assistant under Butch) was always in New Orleans and I thought it was interesting that he and Butch saw something in Reggie that no other school saw.
Reggie had great hands. But I was always impressed to see his technique develop every year at Miami. He didn't rely on speed as much as technique and hands.
The Curtis Johnson / Butch Davis duo was a favorite among Nola high school coaches at the time. ****, all time. I still hear stories.
Nope.
They like to use him only as a blocker.
It's pretty sad they're wasting him like they are.
