Why were we throwing the homerun ball

Dawson had the perfect play to beat 2 deep safeties. beck got impatient. He throws to Mali with safeties being deep and lbs out of position it’s 6 or 1st and goal

Dawson drew it up well. If Beck makes the right read, Miami would have scored a TD or been knocking on the door. Unfortunately he didn’t.

He was in that spot and trying to make a big play because Miamis special teams blunders essentially gave Indiana 10 pts so they were up 27-21. Make the FG and it’s 24-20 Miami at that point with Fletcher closing out the game (assuming Miami holds them to a FG if we successfully punt instead of getting it blocked).

on the bright side, next year I think we have a better kicker instead of one who misses 3 out of every 4 kicks. Thats going to help. And I think we will get a significant upgrade at QB with Mensah and faster WRs. We should be a more dangerous team next year -and we were basically one play away from winning #6 with a roster that isn’t the best Cristobal will have at Miami.

It definitely was a heck of a hit

I thought it was a dirty hit called by Cignetti to knock Beck out of the game and force us to win with our backup qb. I thought Toney was wide open over the middle on a not that shallow cross and if Beck sees him and hits him in stride who knows how much yards he picks up. Toney has taken those to the house before but at least they get 20 yards and put them in great position with still a lot of time left.

This was a blown opportunity for the team. The defense held up pretty well but I thought they would have done better. Just too many misses tackles or bad coverage on 3rd or 4th and long where we normally shine.

Keionte and Jakobe seemed like non factors in this game except for a few plays and I expected huge games from both of them. I'm mostly disappointed as we had the better team and should have taken more advantage of our match ups that we clearly had the edge.

I'll tip my cap to Indiana. They made enough plays and came through on big ******* crucial downs that we normally win most of the time. Too many arm tackles on their backs got them just enough running yards to be effective enough to move the chains. If we played like we can like vs Ohio State we win by 2 possessions. We barley lost despite all of the mistakes made and adjustments not made or made too late. It was probably the worst way too lose to me

Mario attacks issues through portal and coaching. This season inconsistent kickers go in the portal and gets two. No separation created from wrs besides Toney. You go and gets two deep threats Via portal and 1 via HS. Going to need another tone setter at safety go in the portal and get one of the most vicious hitters in CFB. Need a qb with mobility and can air it out deep you hop in the portal. Minus Bain and Mesidor this team upgrades next season.

Unexplainable.

Fixed?

Toney seemed to be breaking free over the middle for at least another first down.
Toney was about 9 to 10 yards deep and if he gets that ball delivered in stride it's an easy 20 yards if not more. I jumped up thinking Beck saw him and Toney had a potential TD as we've seen him do several times and at worst he gets 20 yards with still plenty of time left to make 2 or 3 plays that gets us that winning TD.

If there was less than 15 seconds left then I have no problem going deep. Going deep on that down only should have been if Marion was wide ******* open like the one vs Mississippi.

I would have an easier time accepting the loss if we hit Toney and we get to the 20 and Indiana keeps us out of the end zone on 4 downs. The deep pass would have required a perfect deep ball and Marion making an amazing over his left shoulder catch and Marion wasn't open enough to me even for a moment to risk a low percentage pass play or even waste that down with an incomplete pass when a sure thing was open over the middle that should have been the first read he made. I can't believe he missed it

We were in the catbird seat & then the game ended so abruptly with that interception my brain didnt process it at first. Just **** the TV off. Defended Beck staunchly all week when my buddies said he’d **** down his leg when it mattered the most. Couldnt have happened at a worse time.

Feels like we lost more than they won. ****

That hate for Beck is insane. I've never understood it. Yes I wish Beck made a better decision on that last play but once Dawson finally got more aggressive and gave him chances to attack downfield he played pretty darn well.

Mendoza did jack **** tonight other than get bailed out by his wr's on a few back shoulder throws and run that QB draw and the media is giving him endless bj's. That dude is gonna get a coach fired in the NFL.

Marion was open and that was the right decision by Beck. He just threw it short. ,arion was not looking for the ball. I believe if he was looking, he could have slow down and broke that play up. If Beck threw it deeper, he still wouldn't have seen it until it was to late to catch. At that point in the game, how are you not looking for what is happening? Just a busted play at the worst time. Before bed, I caught Beck's post game interview and he said, the player made a great play on the ball. He didn't say I just threw it short. I actually put that more on Marion. Just unfortunate to lose on that.

Other than Nd schedule is light……

Had we scored a TD there, do we believe Indiana DOESN'T get in FG range? You go down and try to score with little to no time, unless he's just wide open. Terrible, stupid decision.

Beck has had many brain f@rts like this throughout this season... most times the wr made a incredible catch (ND game) or got dropped by CBs

Saw another poster mention it but think that hit maybe rattled him more than people realize. Would explain making a dumb decision
He made good throws after that hit before the INT without issue.

On the INT, he decided pre-snap where it was going. Even with the bad read post-snap, a better throw scores. It was unfortunate that he underthrew it and unfortunate he didn't look back to the right immediately after seeing the safety drop bc other guys were open.
