Why the University of Miami Has a Playoff Caliber Defensive Line

Yeah, I do have a problem with how @Peter Ariz has talked about our defensive line. Actually let me rephrase that, how he has **** on it when those simply aren’t the facts. Our defensive line is stacked this year and every single contributor at defensive tackle is well over 300 pounds. So whenever you hear, Petey ****ting on it, just know he’s full of crap.
Let’s be honest a lot of people have PTSD from last year. We were told that the d line would be one of the best in the country and after game 4 they were exposed. Alston and Baron were nowhere to be found, Bain wasn’t effective after coming back from injury, Moten jumped offsides 874 times. Barrow was our best DL.

I’m high on the DL this year but I’m proceeding with caution until we really see them against good competition.

For anyone to not be excited about David Blay, is crazy to me.

David Blay 2024:
  • 2024 Stats: 46 tackles, 10.5 tackles for loss, 6.5 sacks at NT taking on multiple blockers nearly every down
  • First Team All Conference USA
  • All-American (Phil Steele Honorable Mention)

When is the last time Miami had a First Team All Conference or All American caliber defensive tackle on a the roster? Go watch him play Arkansas and NC State, you will understand just how impactful Blay can be.

Dammit, man. There’s still too much time left until the season starts! 🤣

Loving all these posts. Thanks again for all the work you’re putting into this! 🙌🏻

Bench press fuel…

Talent has never been the issue here. We’ve had enough talent to make it to charlotte for too many years.

The problem lies with the city, the dudes wearing the polo shirts and certain elements that have surrounded the team for too long.

We can have a complete 5 star roster and we would still wonder if the team could pull of a trip to Charlotte.
Too many late night parties, too much selfishness, not enough brain cells on the sidelines.

Take into consideration the irony that is Al golden.
How can a dude who hired D’nofrio as a dc and not fire him (even make excuses for him) to his own detriment, be able to command a defense that made it to the CFB playoffs and even get a dc gig in the nfl.

Let’s see if we finally figured this coordinator thing out.
That’s why I’ve been so critical of any crowning of these freshman or giddy over a dc just because he screams all the time and doesn’t blink.

Gotta see it.
Until then, it’s just more paper tigers.
Am I excited and optimistic? Absolutely, but cautiously and I mean very cautiously optimistic.
At DT…I’m not so sure talent has never been the issue. I would agree at DE for sure.

That said, it is most definitely a we shall see. The optimism is through the roof so bad that it almost seems forced at times…but to your point, we have had enough before.

Of the six main guys mentioned, only one of them wasn't on the team last year. Last years DL was underwhelming so I really hope @Hstokes1447 projections are correct. Some sophomores are gonna need to step up big time. One things for sure, we're gonna know right off the bat against the ******* domers.

There is absolutely no way we have not had the talent to make it to Charlotte. I didn’t say be acc champs, I said make it to Charlotte.
We should have multiple acc coastal champ banners at the Hecht. That sht is an embarrassment and no other point that an opposing coach has to make in order to negatively recruit.

Proceeding with caution and ****ting on it every time he talks about it, are two different things.
