Why I'm enjoying this team.

Dunno about you but...
Let's forget, for a second, the Xs and the Os, the A and B gaps, the playoffs, whether Mario is a meathead or not, etc, etc.
This team has developed into a fun team, full of personalities. Can't wait to see the Toney catches, runs, passes, the Pringle cutbacks, the intensity of our DEs, the excitement on the back end epitomized by Thomas and Fitzgerald (Too bad about Scott) and, in fact, the aggressiveness of the entire defense. A lot of interesting individual stories.
Maybe it's just me but I'm savoring how the team has evolved this year (albeit against subpar competition). It may not be the best team in CFP but it has become fun watch. It has flavor.
Now...go finish 2-0...

and watching the defense, when the offensive ball carrier is, for example, out in the flat and running forward, being so well coached that the players are aggressively running toward the ball carrier in a triangle position, each holding his own responsibility, each with good angles, and the time of impact, crushes the ball carrier with maximum force.

I don't know what you call that, but I see it all the time THIS YEAR from this defense. I see it when I watch other good teams in the past and I'm jealous. Now, I'm not jealous. I am thrilled. And like the OP said, it makes watching this team fun again (for the most part).

10-2 and no playoffs is a wasted season. Lost two games they should have won. Do I like the roster ? Yes so win something after the last 20 years.

I’m watching with zero expectations. The way I should have been watching them for the last quarter century.
 
All I asked from Mario was to build a Top 15 caliber program that can consistently win 9+ games a season and become a consistent winner. He's done that so far, were 18-4 the last 2 years and can compete in the trenches with any team in college football. He's done everything I've asked for, remember when we used to get blown out or lose every big game and we could barely get 7 wins?

We need more of that.

I love what I’m seeing from the defense. I hope we have this same approach forever on that side of the ball.

On Offense we gotta figure out how to be explosive. It’s what holding us back from being in the top tier.

All that personality and fun is being destroyed by Anez Cooper and James Brockermeyer and their bone headed penalties.

Last year was strange. The offense was the best in program history but the defense was so incompetent that I couldn't really enjoy watching as much as I should have. I like this team better all around. Great defense with offense good and getting better.

Yea its an option.. I disagreed with it.. Nothing serious, you been posting for years, Im sure I agreed with a ton of post before, lol.. Last year offense was dam near must see tv. We watch regardless but Cam and co. created a ton of fans. This team is still has opportunity to write a layoff story so lets see how it plays out.

I hear you bro. It's all good. The offense was amazing but the d was so bad that no lead was ever safe. Thank God for Cam!
