Why I refuse to give up on this team after week 1

The problem isn't our talent. But bad coaching trumps good talent. Point blank period.

I had us as an 8-4 9-3 team at best this year... that said, i'm very disappointed in our offensive play calling and execution. Once we lose a game I had penciled in as a W, then i'll be really upset. But Coley needs to get on the ball.

This is nice. So as long as Golden continues living up to your own personal pussified fa-got expectations, everything is ok.

Holy **** you're dumb.

This team is not an 11 win National title contender, even before yesterday's game. Call them what you want, but they're realistic expectations. As a whole I don't like the offense, but nothing has happened yet that's out of kilter.

Honestly you can't say that. You don't know, nobody does. I doubt Auburn fans were sitting there with their 2-10 team or whatever it was, saying if only we got a new coach we have the talent to be undefeated next year. We really have no idea what we could be with some good coaches. I do know that we've recruited well for a number of years now, so our ceiling is a lot higher than what these coaches are getting out of the team.

I can agree with that, so then I'll alter my statement. On paper, and in theory I wasn't expecting 10 - 12 wins from this team.

Guys. It's been about 18 hrs since kickoff. I know you're upset. I am too. But this is week 1 and we didn't really expect to make the playoff with a freshman did we? Irregardless. Outside of the obvious flaws. OLine was abysmal and I would have pulled Clive out of the game after that hit he allowed on 3rd down of the second series. But let's look ahead to the near future for a second.

Brad got thrown into a bad situation and for the most part showed some good things. He definitely needs to get his nerves together, though with how he was hit I understand. But I'm talking about being able to make routine screens where coley isn't having to catch the ball on his knees. That downfield throw to Clive was gorgeous. Again bad situation for anyone starting their first game. Yet look, who do we play next week? Idk the name but I do know it's an FCS team. Brad will be expecting a frantic pace and instead will be able to see more. The next week the speed will pick up alittle more with ark st coming in. I feel like by the Nebraska game we could have brad in his comfort zone.

The online and the OC Playcalling are each things that I believe can be worked on. It obviously couldn't get any worse for either of those aspects. It's done. Let's get to school. Lord knows coley is right there learning with Kaaya. (Not saying that's a good thing, but let's see what they can cook up)

Good deal man....remain optimistic, it's all good. I'll not give up on the team either....But, I just don't recognize or identify South Florida in anything this staff is currently doing. I don't see the passion that Golden stressed when hired. I don't see this addiction he has with weight room numbers translating to the field....There's literally nothing Miami about the product.

This isn't all the title teams I watched type crap. We've got to think the players are doing what's asked of them, and doing their best. These are Dade, Broward and Palm Beach players, with some national players filling the gaps..For the love of the gods, what style of effin football is this. Verbal and visual explanations aren't helping to define what takes place after kick-off.

Yep, and I feel the same way. I felt like we would win maybe 8 games this year. The reason why I responded to your other post is that I had a light bulb moment myself. Wait a minute, maybe we could be an 11 win team with the right coaches, who knows? I think we've become so conditioned to seeing bad play that we just see it and say, these players suck. That's only natural.

It was 21-13 10 minutes left against very good team on road..
Ive never seen this much hysteria after a game ever.

Why should the playcalling need to be worked on? The ******** on the staff are grown-*** men who should know how to do their job. They had the entire off-season to create a game plan. I get young men going from a HS system to college, and then maybe the NFL, needing some time to find their place in a scheme. But the staff of any team are relatively consistent in their specializations (Offense, Defense, Special teams, etc.). A staff shouldnt need a few games to find their groove.

Because we should have won by several scores. Horrible offensive play calling and QB execution. Also the fan base wanted revenge after that bowl game domination. Really should have taken Kaaya out at some point.

Golden and Company are *** clowns until they prove otherwise.

I love the canes but this **** is killing me

Can we get that guy from ND state?

Ok so now they are average. **** near every play
that team made was from a Miami Dade kid. Except for there
240 pound back who will play in league, all local guys. There talent is better than ours on both off/def line
Qb, **** rb even, wr a wash, they got better TE, same talent at lb, we may have edge in dbs although couldn't tell from that game.

Louisville lost a lot of talent. They're breaking in new systems on both sides of the ball. Louisville isn't the type of program that easily reloads.

And if they have better talent than us in Golden's FOURTH YEAR, then that's a huge coaching failure on his part.

There's no credible way to spin this.

the only thing better about louisville is Petrino's willingness to try and get the win rather than go into a shell and hope for a miracle.
