Why have we stopped throwing the ball so much?

For the first 7 games it seemed like rozier was throwing the ball 35+ times again or so. Now rozier does not throw the ball as frequently and turned into more of a running QB. Why do you guys think richt changed the offense up?

because rosier was streaky as **** and we have a lot of inexperienced skill players solidifying their grasp of the offense.

Because this has allowed us to sustain drives much better? Before we were boom or bust and now we have been much better at sustaining drives.

ND played Goldens prevent defense. The deep shots are not there when they do that. So you take what the defense gifts you. That is a healthy dose of Homer and Malik gaining five yards a pop. Malik will sling it when warranted. Just had a different way to win last night.

QB designed runs, basically the classic QB draw have really opened up our running game. Not to mention the OL played great the last 2 weeks

We finished the game with 19 straight runs

Only threw the ball 5 times in second half

Was really no reason to

This . They play calling early was asking Rosier to do too much. He can pass really well but we shouldn't call plays like he is Baker Mayfield . Rosier is way more Jalen Hurts then Mayfield and that ain't a bad thing . Rosier is 2nd in the ACC in passing yard a game and is one of the best rushing Qbs in the Power 5 . Most importantly he is a great leader and steps up in the clutch instead of shrinking . That aspect takes him from being a good qb to a really good one .

Because you have to run the ball to win football games against good defenses

We had 4 5+ minute drives in the second half to salt the game away.
You do that by running the ball.

We were forced to throw it. We were getting stuffed. Next thing we have been playing with a lead so we can run more. And it's only been the last 2 games. He threw it a bunch v UNC. I rather it the way it is now. We probably could have lit up ND, but why take the chance when we are up multiple scores and our D is shutting them down.

Because we've been playing with a big lead the last few games.

Early on we were in very close games where we had to throw it.

Homer goes for 100+ in one quarter and we have back to back 200 yard games and dudes are mad about not throwing enough. FFS

Because we were up big in both games and were running the ball successfully. Why should we have been throwing the ball?

Why!!!!,.... When were 9-0...and playing 4 quarters of football,.. Just beat the 3rd ranked team in the nation (and I mean, beat the brakes off 'em)..riding a 14 game win streak (the longest active streak in CFB atm)...are we questioning the playcalling of the last few games? We just had a 33 pt. Victory margin over the #3 ranked team in the country,..WHO CARES how we scored 41 points, as long as were taking care of business, does it matter? ****, some of you guys!!

Unfortunately, up until the Virginia Tech game our offensive line was getting no push, thus no running game. That fact handcuffed Coach Richt's playing calling, made our offense mostly one dimensional, which placed an unhealthy amount of pressure on Rosier and the passing game. Then, starting with the Virginia Tech game we saw great improvement in the run blocking department and against Notre Dame the offensive line played championship football.
