Why does every "feel good story" work against us..

There are usually 2 variations of this story:

1. The guy that really wanted to come the U but wasn't recruited and then returns home to win it all like we just witnessed with Mendoza and others, or

2. The guy the U really wanted but shunned his hometown team cause they weren't "winning enough" and went elsewhere to win big like Jeremiah Smith and others

In both scenarios they always cheer for the player while the U and this City get trashed.

I can't wait for the day we have a hometown guy that actually stays home and the TV cameras pan back to his parents in the stands while the band is playing and cheerleaders are cheering.

Why not us?

We were close man.

Mark Fletcher is that dude.
Toney is that dude.

You can feel it.
These guys are built a little different and they don't seem like mercenaries (they do expect to get paid of course) and genuinely want to win one for the home crowd.

We had Bain in that role. Now the next ones are coming.

Losing sucks, sucks even more when you're playing, these boys got some juice to re tool and re load.

Because you and the media are ignoring the ones that 1. Are from Miami/south florida, 2. wanted to play for Miami, and 3. Succeeded at Miami

They're there. Just not enough drama in the story when a kid stays home.

Because we're a bunch of dirty "thugs", haven't you seen the people on SM gloating about the loss? What did Miami do to deserve such animosity?

We're the bad guy because a bunch of average players didn't get an offer and became good, it's a tale as old as time...

The most ridiculous one was a picture of Bain online that said THUG. Lmao that dude is such a great human. People live in their SEC/Big10 bubble and dont watch or follow anything Miami. They just think of 40 years ago

Its just like there's a fake post going around now that Carson Beck said, "I don't owe anyone a handshake, I owe myself the standard I play to." Carson never said this though, and people are running with it.

This!!! We're the bad guy. The only feel good stories that we ever had or ever was gonna be a part of was our first run championship run in 1983. And the Coach L led, Final Four basketball team. That's it
