Of all the disappointments of years when we should’ve won, this one hurts because it seemed like we had a really complete team.

I don’t recall the OL being that good either.great defense(Sapp, Lewis, Lang, Holmes, Richardson)
But I cant see a team with Frank Costa winning a title, to be honest. But with that said, without a horrific quarter vs Washington, they could've been playing for a title that year.
You're probably right. Miami would have had an argument if they beat Nebraska convincingly like they started to do. I remember our D was punishing and I thought it was going to be a route.I don’t think we would’ve won the Nat’l Championship that yr anyway.
I, too, thought we gave up the title in ‘94 b/c Nebraska won it; but, even if we had beat them, AND WE SHOULD’VE, PSU finished undefeated. We lost to #17 UDub earlier that season, & they finished outside the top 25. I believe the best we finish was #2 & “possibly” a share of the Nat’l title, but highly doubt it since PSU finished undefeated would’ve been a consensus #1 by both The AP & Coaches.
They weren't. They had Zev Lumelsky starting at tackle. He shouldn't have been on the field.I don’t recall the OL being that good either.

No they wouldn't have....Penn St would have easily Won the NC regardless....You're probably right. Miami would have had an argument if they beat Nebraska convincingly like they started to do. I remember our D was punishing and I thought it was going to be a route.
Penn st and their high powered offense would have claimed NC that year had Miami beat Nebraska.Yeah; that was my thought as well. Still an inexcusable loss, b/c we would’ve beat, iirc, 3 top 10 teams that season, 5 top 25 teams in total, including defending Nat’l champions FSU who was a top 3 team, and we beat them convincingly.
We could’ve put some serious pressure on the voters where maybe The AP voted PSU and Coaches voted us. Who knows, b/c we tricked it off, so I sleep easy just saying PSU would’ve been Nat’l Champions due to being undefeated. Lol
Patrick Riley tore his ACL the last game of the yr....Holmes and Lang were Banged up pretty bad...and Rock was also Banged up, leaving Sapp as the only 100% healthy DLman....Of all the disappointments of years when we should’ve won, this one hurts because it seemed like we had a really complete team.

Wouldn't have done **** if our DL was healthy....Corey freaking Schlesinger...
But.... He did.... Ran all over us in the 4th.... Couldn't stop him at all.Wouldn't have done **** if our DL was healthy....
Again....ONLY because of our depleted DL...and their OL getting upfield easily...enabling them to snuff out our LBers....I'm not impressed whatsoever...But.... He did.... Ran all over us in the 4th.... Couldn't stop him at all.
