He's not an NFL GM. Meaning the excuse the BOT gives is that he presides over ALL sports. Fact is, he's neglecting the sport that gave the school its identity. he's got two failed hires so far. The school needs to decide what it wants to be.

They. Don't. Care. They decided a long time ago. Football isn't a top priority. Basketball and baseball aren't either. This is pretty obvious.

Athletics look like a distant concern to the administration. The sad thing is, UM was built off the success of its football starting in the 80's. If you look at the CFB landscape, a consistent winning program brings in a ton of money and exposure for universities.

I think the administration is scared to invest for fear of another Shapiro emerging. They'd rather play off the success of the past and claim that in lieu of having success now. They're doing the bare minimum, and it shows horrendously.

Miami is able to sell shirts in the backwoods of Wisconsin at some random fishing store. I've seen it. No idea why they don't want to take advantage of an obvious cash cow it's not like the football program isn't a gem of a money maker for them if they would just invest in winning a game or two

Blake doesn’t make any meaningful decisions. The BOT is pulling the strings (DiMare, Diaz, etc).

Blake needs to be fired, there’s no question, but the BOT is at the root of all of this.

How do we organize a donations boycott until they replace him? Does Adidas have some clause in their deal that voids it if he leaves?
I want this guy posthaste: Martin Jarmond BC AD * on a side note, what would Addazio get out of our players?

We have the smartest fans in college football. We really do and when Blake moves on or is fired, it is my earnest opinion that you should all be in charge of the hiring process.

The presence of sports on the Miami campus, and many college campuses throughout the US is not there for the benefit of the peripheral fans. It's there for the benefit of both the students and the student athletes. the phenomenon that WAS the Cane football team of years gone by will NEVER be replicated. the big, powerhouse, universities with deep pocket alumni and other donors, can certainly buy the teams and win the games, but they can never replicate what happened at the little college in Coral Gables.

And here's the truth many fans refuse to accept.....neither can the Canes. Try to understand that things that are truly remarkable rarely come along more than once in a lifetime, if at all. for those that have been there since the 60s this is all too true. we saw it all. we bore witness to the magic. we were the lucky ones.

When the cost of pursuing the level of exceptional excellence becomes untenable the pursuit, itself, becomes less desirable. if the goal of the athletic programs is to offer a place for student athletes, and entertainment for students and fans only, then the goal is achieved just by having the programs. In this scenario there is little to be gained by throwing good money after bad. We are where we are (ACC) because of this reality. There is nothing to be gained and very little to lose, by lowering athletic expectations. The IVY league recognized this years ago when they opted to approach college athletics from a more rational perspective.

So here we are, in the ACC, fielding teams that satisfy the requirements for continued participation in the conference. We are in an elite academic conference with excellent sports in basketball and baseball, and decent, competitive football.

We many never reach the heights we were once at in football again. But we will still play football and still be in the ACC. For those who demand only uber excellence in football i submit the following. You are at a crossroads. You can stay the course with the die hard alums and others and enjoy the ride, no matter how bumpy and mired in mud it gets.......or you can get off the ride now and find a new one that satisfies your need for perpetual glory. It won't bother those of us who are in for the long haul one bit if you decide to go elsewhere. However, if you decide to stick around for awhile please show a little respect and turn down your rhetoric a few decibels. it's too noisy and a bit annoying.

We could do what you're saying and go quietly in to the night..... OR we could fly banner planes, boycott the BOT businesses, and do everything we can to generally embarrass the university.

I choose Door #2.

And "Miami" and "elite academics" should not be mentioned in the same sentence. It's basically Pepperdine on the east coast. Full of rich kids from New Jersey who couldn't get in to any of the good schools in the Northeast, so they come to Miami to party for 5 years.

I remember hearing this "embrace the suck" logic back in the late 90's. It was bull**** then and it's bull**** now. It takes commitment and effort. When the university hears that winning is a priority from donors, it will act.

You should be on the BOT and perhaps hired as the new AD. I see big things for us under your sage tutelage.

Wrong on many levels.

I said earlier u were wrong. After further review, Turns out you’re not wrong at all.

This isn’t the Miami we all remember. Nor will it ever be again. There’s no point in getting upset about it. Either jump on board, or gtfo.

This program is great for the casual fan who enjoys watching a game, and pulling for a team. It’s no longer for the fan who wants to see championships.

So you’re right. There’s no point in getting angry...

1. Not Firing Golden before his 5th season.
2. Hiring Richt
3. Making Richt do his job getting an IPF
4. Not firing Richt
5. Not conducting a coaching search
6. Hiring Manny Diaz
7. Athletic programs are floundering all across the board.

Who does this guy need to touch to get fired?
