People sleepin' on Shirreffs, reminds me of Ryan Williams.

Didn't think much of Williams when He had to step in for an injured Morris vs UNC in 2012...2 years later, He had the starting job wrapped up until the unfortunate injury.

I'll be happy with N'Kosi or Williams. With Malik being a solid veteran 3rd string back up with experience. But if i had to pick one im rolling with Perry by default.

Weldon and Shirreff both have no chance to ever start here

Weldon is a guy you keep here as a backup just in case there are injuries. Better to have a QB that understands the system than a young kid with raw talent. I fully expect him transfer to a I-AA school after next season. Weirder things have happened though (i.e. Malik Rosier, etc.)

Pray that Kosi takes the next step. We need him to seize the job and take control of the offense. This is going to be a loaded offense. We can’t waste it.

I thought so to, but He made huge strides from when I saw Him step in for Morris vs UNC in 2012...same strides Shirreffs has made since He stepped on campus.

If Perry is any kind of QB, he starts. If Rosier starts, he won the job as the default option again. It would not bode well.

Going with Perry. Glowing reviews all year about him impressing his teammates. Hopefully the redshirt year helped with the mental aspect!

Williams looked OK in his initial limited PT in live games. You could see flashes of potential. Williams was a decent college QB at the D1 level.

I'm rooting for Shirreffs (as I do for all Canes) but whether it is slow decision making, slow release, weak arm, low launch angle (or a combination of some or all of the above), he has barely gotten the ball past the line of scrimmage. If I were Evan, I would spend 75% of my time in the offseason working on strength & conditioning, speed drills, increasing flexibility and anything else he can do to become more athletic. He's probably fairly good in terms of knowledge of the playbook & the mental aspects of the game. He needs to become way more athletic to be a factor at the D1 level.
