Time to start planning the next banner ...let's fly that **** over campus
Personally, I never said it wouldn't get noticed.
I said it'd draw negative attention and make UM fans look bad. Which was pretty much the case.
I didn't see a single article or mention on TV about how UM fans have a right to be upset and to call for change, and how UM fans were right to fly a banner. I saw a lot of articles and announcers calling UM fans delusional and spoiled because of the banner. Basically it had the opposite of the intended effect--you guys wanted to get the word out that we were unhappy and get the national media on our side...and they just kinda looked at us and called us jackasses, once again.
But hey, whatever floats your boat, man.
/ready for the negs.
Yeah, enough with this. In case you weren't aware, EVERYBODY hates Miami. Even Miami fans hate Miami at the moment (thanks comma Al). It doesn't matter what Miami or their fans do. We are thugs. We are this. We are that. **** Miami. **** us fans. Don't be fooled by the entire nation rooting for us against Florida State. In the event that we would have won that game, the nation would have immediately reverted back to hating Miami; which they have anyway because Miami let them down. Who cares that other fan bases don't like Miami? The best Miami teams in history were hated. The only reason this particular Miami isn't hated is because we field a bunch of soft-*** pansies that are led by an incompetent coaching staff who can't even 'George Costanza' themselves out of a job. I'll take fans hating Miami and winning over fans liking Miami and not even competing in the ACC Coastal.
What's any of that have to do with flying the banner?

It has to do with the part in bold. The part about "making Miami fans look bad". My point is you're going to "look bad" to most every college sports fan if you wear that orange and green 'U' on your shirt, hat, etc.
Bunch of cry babies. Waaa waaa waaa, I can't brag to my FSU friends because that meanie Al Golden can't get us wins... WAAAAA!!!!! Get a life. I want to see our kids do well for their sake, but you guys who are in it for your own self absorbed reasons are easy to spot. You're the ones who cry the loudest and longest. Keep throwing your temper tantrums, and I'll keep laughing at your sad little lives. You need something positive in your lives so badly. It's really, really sad. I couldn't care less about whatever the **** a neg is. All I care about is the things I have control over, while you are ****ing all over yourself over something you have absolutely no control over. I'll take that neg, now, you go change your drawers. Or your diaper.

Meh, I get that we like the bad boy image.
Flying a banner isn;t about being a badass. It's ******* dumb, and it accomplished nothing.
But hey, woohoo, we bad mutha****as!!!

I never said I liked the bad boy image. I liked winning. I still do, I just don't know what it feels like anymore.
When we were bad boys, we won. We (fans) remember the winning (the good). Everyone else on remembers the bad boy image (the bad). Therefore, no one likes Miami.
The banner didn't accomplish anything; you're correct. But it was worth a shot. It was better than just accepting mediocrity. "I would rather die of passion than of boredom."
But you're still going to have to accept mediocrity next year. That's my point. There was never a chance in **** that flying a banner was going to influence the BOT decision.
Banners don't get people fired; they never have. Didn't get Butch fired, thankfully, and unfortunately it wasn't (and isn't) going to get Golden fired. All they do is make the fan base that flies them look bad.
Point is that flying a banner is a misguided and immature publicity stunt that doesn't work. It might make you guys feel like you got your frustrations out, but those frustrations were going to be ignored from the outset...unless you guys put together a big check to help with Al's buyout.
LOL @ the idea of any of these message board heroes having an actual financial impact to the University when 80% of them haven't been in the state of Florida to begin with.
Ok James.

If only the administration gave two damns what the fan base thought.....

Agree to disagree. Personally I thought the banner was funny and didn't hurt (or help) anything. And I've started to dislike Golden so much, that anything that may cause him any kind of pain or sadness is okay in my book. Fly another one. Make him cry. Make him leave. Make him uncomfortable. Whatever it takes to make his life ****, because that's **** sure what he's made ours.
Actually 4Canes, you Moby looking pedophile, you and your fellow faqqots always contended that "nobody would see it."
It'll now be featured on a movie seen by most sports fans in the country.
You were wrong on Golden and wrong on this, you figured by now you'd learn to spit out "I was wrong" a little easier since you're a stupid ficking dipshlt that can't get anything right.

Doesn't matter how many banners you fly, the guy is still making bank and will either be paid through his contract or be bought out. Either way, your banner is the last thing on his mind, and it sure as **** isn't going to make him wince. Like I said in my first post here, all a banner does is galvanize national media support around him and make UM fans look bad...so it's got the exact opposite effect f what you want it to have.

You shook huh, lulz.
And Golden is still the coach, cool banner Bro!

You're happy that we still have a coach at our school who's gone 28-21 in his time at Miami and 16-16 in the weak ACC?
I guess you won. Miami sucks. You're happy. I guess you're the best fan ever, you ******* moron.
