No. I'm not going to make fun of a college kid for having a mental meltdown or give him a mean nickname.
I remember in college going through a real bad breakup and it was like the end of the world at the time. School, food, work- my mind was stuck in a negative feedback loop because I didn't have enough life experience to know that I'd get over it.
For whatever reason it look like TVD went into a mental downward spiral. It's a coach's job to either get him out of the funk or to do what is in the best interest of the team and sit him. The one thing a coach CANT do is keeping putting a mentally broken QB out on the field because every mistake the QB makes is only going to make things worse for him.
Hypothetically let's say that TVD fractured his clavicle 3 weeks ago, but Cristobal kept putting him on the field because TVD told Cristobal he felt good enough to play. We knew that every time he got hit it would make the injury worse. Who bears responsibility? I say its 99% on the coach because players will always put on a brave face and say they can play. A mental problem isn't any different than a physical problem, except that it's not visible.
