Nothing to lose but recruiting interest, a top 15 ranking, team confidence… dude there is nothing to be gained facing a team that is clearly going to embarrass you.

Where did I say anything about cheating? The post is about resource allocation. In this sport you are allowed to spend as much as you feel is necessary on your football program. In this landscape one can easily see how a small private university with limited resources can be at a huge disadvantage compared to state schools. MIA became a relevant national program during a time, when there was much greater parity in the sport. How else do you think the program managed to maintain independent status?

So when you try to frame the issue as mere incompetence, from MIAs perspective, you're failing to acknowledge the profound ways in which CFB has evolved in the last 40 yrs.

For the last 15 years, Miami has recruited and developed more NFL players than all of the Coastal teams and has managed to win only 1 Coastal title. That’s practically the definition of incompetence. Your resource argument is only valid to a degree. Miami should be far more successful than what we have been for nearly two decades.

We just gave Temple $6 million for this **** without interviewing a single candidate. Don’t lecture me about resources when Miami has enough resources to be successful.

I don't think Georgia / LSU / Clemson / Alabama are richer than any other university.

The difference is they have a deeply entrenched bag game and football is life to them.

they don't want to hear it. They like to complain and talk about firing everyone. There's nothing to be gained by having a revolving door of coaches every couple of years.

That's just a self-comforting narrative you have to tell yourself, in order to return to this forum day after day. The differences between the candidates would've been marginal at best. So instead of losing to Bama 44-13, we maybe lose to them 44-20. To suggest this university would've hired someone who could've helped this team compete with Bama is just insane.

Uhh we have nothing to lose if the coaching staff puts together a good game plan and we at least make the game interesting, but getting blown out and not belonging on that stage does hurt us. You think today’s game helped recruiting ? Smh

Exactly. Our staff does a great job of developing young men and fostering camaraderie. Totally unfair to call for firings after every loss. Can't hire 5 or more coaches every year
