Who is the RB we offered out of blue visiting this weekend?

Mcnight was expected to be a top 10 recruit in Luisiana next year if he had not been reclassified.

any links to back up such a claim?

On my mobile but Sonny Shipping (now over at 247) is easily best analyst covering Louisiana. Read his comments below article. Kid is legit.

Meet Jimmy Smith

Nobody can touch Jimmy D

This dude is better than Dillard, and he's, IMHO, better than Ferby. Plus the kid is very versatile. He can play multiple positions.

I actually like his film, he's also faster than some of these guys are making him sound. He's got long strides, like Ciatrick Fason . Think there's upside at lb after a year in s&c program.

Is long striding compatible with LB? I would think you might want somebody who runs with shorter strides.

Oh, ok. Easily?, lol. You must not read anything much other than 247. To each his own, I guess.

For those concerned about speed and burst, he definitely looks to be a short-yardage back, and the Canes kind of lack that presence right now.

I think we saw Gus start to "get it" the last couple of games, so I expect him to be much improved, but McKnight might be the bowling ball for 3rd & shorts UM needs. Good hands, breaks a ton a tackles. 3rd down specialist, looks decent at LB, too.

Despite what some here are saying, I'm not seeing the kind of upright style that so many complain of with Gus. We didn't have a good power back this year and this kid might be the trick. Despite his size, Gus' upright style diminished any power that he might have had given his size. Gus is apparently taller than this kid, too. Gus does remind me in style of Chuck Muncie from the '70's and early '80's, who played for the Dolphins for a while.

We run a 3-4, plenty of olb's in that system are long striders , because most are in the. 6'3-6'5 range. Majority of the time you'll be rushing the passer or dropping in short zones . It's not like he'll be running sideline to sideline, like you would in a 4-3 or playing ilb in a 3-4.

He has a frame that reminds me of Alec Ogletree ( not saying he's him ).Kid is in the 6'2 220 range now, long and lean , so you have room to add weight.

IMO, he's a better athlete than most are making him out to be, rb could definitely be a spot too .

Gore has that "old school" lean and low shoulders. Im intrigued by this McKnight kid. I like him and hopefully we can get him.

If we signed McKnight, when could he play? If he is a HS junior, do you sign him in Feb, then wait for him to graduate next year. This isn't clear to me.
