I know you have been saying that for a long time. I agreed with you on it. You always where talking about how the OL was trash last year. The part we disagreed was you didn't think Richts OL recruiting was an issue, just developmental, but its clear now that recruiting was also an issue.

Texas..you bring up Texas..Ok..so you think recruiting ends when u get to look up the 247 rankings and determine success of a class based on the stars guys get next to their name..no..recruiting is about getting guys who fit what you want to do in your building and seeing development..on the d manny staff had done that...manny has clearly done that. on the defensive side of the ball..He’s been the HC for about 6 months..he led one the nations top Ds and you talking about him promoting a staffer (who’s position group has been pretty **** good) and not holding him accountable for a 17 year olds decisions? You say he “whiffed” as it there wasn’t no effort to get those kids..a position coach should get fired off a 17 year olds decision..wtf are you even talking bout bro lol

You said manny can’t recruit. I don’t agree with that because I see what he does D in order to maximize the talent ...but The discussion was never about MR..I said recruiting doesn’t just end on signing day. You don’t base the success of a class based on the stars 247 puts by their names. It’s about development. Now to specifically the Oline, yes we have talent. But They are young. Now I don’t and never did agree with manny and co decision to start Zion this early on. I won’t say I was right cause I’m not at practice everyday. But clearly my concerns reared it’s head.

That is not what I am referring too. I am talking about our discussion back when Richt was still here and you where defending him every chance you got.

In the traditional workplace, I completely agree with you. In sports it’s different. I can’t see it being on the coach if the players are put in the right position but don’t make the play. The kid nailed 2 field goals earlier and JT hasn’t muffed many (none that come to mind) before. Coach responsibility is to teach the proper technique and have guys in the right place. It’s on players to execute. Of course, when you see multiple guys dropping passes, missing blocks, and missing tackles, that does show some coaching issues.

But two bad plays by players that have shown they have the technique and ability is on them. It’s easy to blame the coaches when plays go bad but when DJ scores that last touchdown i give him more credit than I do the coaches because DJ made that play. Not the play call. This is something that can be argued on both sides though.

Newsflash, you can't fire the team. If things that go well or things that go bad aren't the position coaches fault, then who the f*cks fault is it?

Was being caught off guard and not prepared for that trick play punt not the coaches fault either?

It does apply here imo. For instance, lets say Bubba didn't have the leg to hit a 20 yarder. That is entirely on him. Obviously, not the coaches fault. However, he obviously does have the talent. I am not sure if the issue was preparation. Patkes lackadaisical approach. Or what, but when multiple people are ******* up basic, easy, textbook jobs. Its on the coach.

It wasn’t about defending MR. It was never personal like that. I felt like some of your arguments and others about MR were just totally off base. It never was just about football. Most here wanted Butch over MR. And even when we had a good season in 17 despite having a flawed team some still were waiting for the opportunity to talk about the mans faith and commitment to the program..and if ever comes to the point where a poster just gets on here and states Manny can’t recruit based off of what happened at Texas, abd just disregarding what he has done for the defense in 4 years, I’ll defend him too. Cause it’s stupidity

I wasn't biased towards Richt. I just was stating the facts. The guy can't recruit the OL. He never could, even at Georgia, where blue chip OL are everywhere.

Manny was a better DC than NO d. Obviously. He could beat all the 3 star filled Coastal teams with his D, but he needs to recruit better. That is all I am saying. He could be the best Xs and Os DC of all time, if he doesn't get the guys he isn't beating elite teams. He needs to work on that because right now he is showing he is not a good recruiter.

Perspective, fellas! We need to stick together and support our players and coaches. Both are human, and there is a learning curve when you have new coaches and young player infusion. Manny has done well off season. Let’s get behind him and let him do his thing, managing this team. I don’t have a problem, as long as there is improvement. These things take time, it’s not like this is a pro team where you can release incompetent players and coaches, and trade for some. Recruiting is the only avenue available, give it time. This team, minus the mistakes, played well enough to go toe to toe with a team ranked 8th, you gotta give it to them. Perspective.

As far as Manny is concerned, he’s gotta prove himself and gets no benefit of the doubt. He’s green and we’ve hired 4 straight failed coaches. Burden is on him.

If a player muffs a punt..and kicker misses a 20 yard field HTF is it the coaches fault...that logic makes ZERO sense. Those are player mistakes..if I made a error in baseball or dropped a pass in football I would never look at my coach and say that’s your fault coach..so why now as a fan would I do that

the fake punt is one that you just live with man. Nobody expected that. Based on the field position it happened at. It was a ballsy play. I truly question if some of y’all played team sports b4 or what kind of teammates y’all could’ve been

I'll give you the fake punt, team should have been prepared for that (even though Blades should have kept containment). A missed chip shot and a muffed punt are 100000000000000% on the player.

Because these dudes need to blame the coaches for something, it's the "in" thing to do. THe fake punt is on Patke, the missed FG and muffed punt is on the player only

A lot of should have, could haves this game, but it is what it is. Where we go from here is key. Do the coaches make corrections and adjustments? We’ll see.
 
If your ***** is broken over that loss, I'm glad you're gone. I've been a Canes fan over 40 years and I'll be one as long as I'm on this earth. The gaytor is my most hated team behind ND, so yeah, I'm hurt dawg but there's no way I cut and run now. I'm in it for life.
