Who is off the wagon already?

Guess what. We only have one game to look at. The guy fvcked up. I am not saying fire him, but the guy needs to be chewed out by Diaz for that BS.
Yes, we have only one game to look at....so stop with the nonsensical over reactions to ONE GAME. Patke didn't fvck up, his players did. Unless you see a PATTERN of that happening during the season, it's absolutely ridiculous to blame it on Patke.

If we made it through Shannon's extremities, Golden's pillars, Richt's QB coRch Lil Jon (and that's for young Canes).. I don't think losing the opener against the #8 team would be a deal breaker. Did hate our lack of discipline though.

Full disclaimer: Even when we were about to go up 10 late, I expected us to blow it. #cursed

LOL Felipe franks..ivey, bandy and Blades would play in any defense in the nation. So yes they are elite talents..Hall and carter would play at any D in the nation..none of those guys scrubs in terms of talent..when I look at our D I just don’t see what your talking about. I didn’t see one individual on D who took the field Saturday looking like they didn’t belong..maybe 20 lmao, but he did his job..there’s no mike Williams, aj highsmith and fentress on our D

You are mistaking what I am saying. I am not saying they are scrubs, I am saying they are not elite. Like I said getting DBs in so fla is easy. Even No D did it. Look at his LB recruiting and guys he personally recruited.

No, I am not blaming the staff because its the "cool thing to do". When your men make simple errors that is on the coach. It is also on the player obviously, but when multiple players make stupid mistakes it is clearly a preparation issue. If you have never worked in any sort of managerial position you wouldn't understand it.

You're not wrong. At the same time, it was illogical to expect us to walk in with a new coaching staff, a QB who wasn't named QB1 until two weeks ago, three first time starters on the oline, a punter in his first game playing "real" football, patchwork special teams units (due to depth issues all over the roster), and blow out even a flawed top ten team "on the road".

We absolutely need to see the preparation improve substantially, but some sloppiness should have been expected. Kickers miss kicks occasionally, nothing you can really do about that, except hope it doesn't become persistent. The only thing truly inexcusable was Jeff Thomas' decision to field that punt, and then failure to secure it.

I expect this team and coaching staff to be working non-stop between now and 9/7 to correct these issues. So much of the offensive line woes can be addressed simply by getting the plays in more efficiently and cleaning up other procedural issues. The line is not good, don't get me wrong, but you have to give them a chance by getting the plays in quickly, having everyone on the same page knowing what the **** is going on, and using the motions and misdirections to keep the defense off balance, rather than the offense being off balance because half the team isn't sure what their job is at any given moment. That HAS to get corrected, and fast.

Umm. No. All 3 need to take the blame like men.

But they play at a elite level..the 2nd ranked pass D is a elite level..that was last year..sooo by that logic yes, yes they are very much “elite”

Blaming a coach for his players making mistakes in one game is just being angry and irrational. But you do you.

Its not angry or irrational. Thank god you aren't in any type of managerial role or I would feel sorry for that company. Probably having a bunch of nitwits running around with no one being held responsible for their actions.

Been a fan since 1963(George Mira &co, ), so I,m not going to quit now. As the season progresses the team will get better and so will the results.

WTF did I say that? But when you boost your stats bullying scrubs all season your number 2 defense ranking is straight *********.
That doesn’t make sense..that’s how ranking work..if you play to that ranking, your considered elite..If you don’t (FLORIDA) your considered..what does manny and co call it..a *****

What I am saying is the rankings don't mean schit since they all play different teams. If every team played the same schedule I would agree with you. If Miami was in the Big 12 or pac 12 no chance we have the number 2 passing defense.

Elite defenses don't let Wisconsin humiliate them. The numbers were padded due to the competition.

Ask Alabama about what happens when u play in a meaningless bowl game..but I agree Wisconsin was inexcusable..when your not mentally ready to play a quality opponent like whisky will embarrass your ***

It does apply here imo. For instance, lets say Bubba didn't have the leg to hit a 20 yarder. That is entirely on him. Obviously, not the coaches fault. However, he obviously does have the talent. I am not sure if the issue was preparation. Patkes lackadaisical approach. Or what, but when multiple people are ******* up basic, easy, textbook jobs. Its on the coach.
I respect your opinion but I disagree and that’s ok. This is a topic that is all about opinion. The way I see it is if he didn’t have the leg and the coaches still trotted him out, that’s on the coaches because they should be aware of his limitations. He went out and hit a longer field goal earlier though and JT fair caught a punt in traffic earlier. I just don’t see how them ******** up in those two moments can be put on the coach. Like you said, those were basic, easy, and textbook plays. Was it on the coach when they performed earlier in the game? I respectfully disagree with you on this but all involved need to improve and I think we can both agree on that.
