Who has the best QB in this game?

Lol I know we all love Brad, but c'mon this really isn't a serious thread is it? You can hate #5 on the other team all you want, but the guy is Elite and has IT.

The only thing that can be argued here is, "Is Kaaya having a better statistical year than Winston". After that, the comparisons come to a screeching halt. That dude from FSU is the definition of clutch regardless of how the rest of the offense is playing. Again and again and again. He just makes the plays when there are no plays to be made. I love love love Kaaya's upside but even in three years, I doubt Kaaya will rise to match those intangibles. Doesn't mean he can't be the greatest QB the Canes have had in the last two decades though and that is all I really care about. F the Noles!

Go ahead.....I dare you!

AY I'm no Donofrio supporter and Jimbo is the best second half adjustment coach in the nation. I'm not saying that, I'm trying to start the coversation that this kid is exceeding everyone's expectations (even those that said he is the bet we had since Dorsey) and on paper right now is better than Jameis.

Kaaya is not better than JW in his dreams. Stop Tripping. Yeah, we beat three Campbell's Tomato Soup Cans. Duke was the horse, NOT Kaaya.

Look at those numbers carefully. Keep in mind that JW missed a game. Completion %? Competition?

So you're cherry picking? That missed game makes his conference leading 11 interceptions far worse. Even more so that his missed game was against Clemson so they didn't have an opportunity to pick him.

To me this is the same type of argument the D'Onofrio doves have when they point to the stats to mention how much better we are this year.

On paper, sure, the stats say one thing, but cmon, we know who the better qb is (this year) and we all know how bad D'Onofrio is when he faces a semi competent offense.

No one is denying that he didn't win the Heisman last year but at this moment in time Jameis has thrown 11 interceptions in 8 games which is a conference leading 1.4 INTs per game. It is a fact that no one at his position turns the ball over more in the ACC. They are vulnerable and no QB has been better in the redzone than Kaaya...

FYI the spread just dropped again to -1 FSU, this is crazy

I actually wouldn't characterize Winston's advantage as intangibles but athletic ability. Winston is a much better athlete than Kaaya and I think it is intangibles that will make Kaaya a better quarterback overall.

I think the argument that the better quarterback should have better stats is compelling and an interesting topic for debate but in this case I think there are some other factors that would make me say Winston has a pretty good lead. Would a true freshman Kaaya beat a a true freshman Winston? That is kind of like asking whether a full-sized Ditka would be 11 little Ditkas.

I definitely think a third year Kaaya will be better than third year Winston, and if Kaaya is the one who wins the game on Saturday, I will claim he is the best quarterback ever to walk the face of the earth.

I'm not a Stats person. Stats are always misleading. Stats say we are the 11th best defense in the Nation, and yes we have improved, but we are far in away from a top 10 defense. FSU lost 2 starting WR's, their starting RB and almost their entire front 7 on defense. The guy hasn't lost a collegiate football game in his career. Yes he's immature off the field, but the guy can play some **** football.

The team with the Heisman trophy winner?

Kaaya looks pretty **** good this year, but this isn't a serious discussion.

So based on this logic, Timmy Tebow is a better QB than Peyton Manning since Peyton never won a Heisman?

You're trying to hard.

Winston is the best offensive player in the country. I love what Kaaya has done but try and contort what I said is dumb.

I wasn't trying to contort what you said. I understand your point and I was being mildly sarcastic. However, Jameis won the Heisman last year. And he deserved it last year (despite off field issues). While he has been good this year, he certainly isn't having the same type of year and has actually struggled quite a bit at times. Statistically speaking, Kaaya is neck and neck with Jameis. And the debate can certainly be made based off of how the two have played this year.

...And statistically speaking, Mariota is the best offensive player in the country this year.

You are missing the point.

Even with a missed game, JW has more passing attempts and Completions....HIGHER COMPLETION PERCENTAGE....MORE YARDS

Again, in less games.

If you are going to Compare them, COMPARE THEM.

JW CARRIED his team to victories over tough opponents. Kaaya did not do that.

Don't pull the freshman card now. YOU COMPARED THEM.....

I think in the long run when is all said and done Kaaya will be better than crab legs but right now because of experience in big games winston is better.

WTF you mean in the long run? Based on what? Kaaya is not setting College football on fire like some True Freshmen have done in the past.

Don't let hate for FSU/JW make you say Wack things.

JW is a rare college football talent. ****, we don't need Kayaa to ever be as good as JW. We just need Kaaya to be a solid UM QB.

Winston is one of the smartest and cerebral cfb qbs i have ever seen on the field..his decisions off the field is a different issue but on the field not many can touch him.

Rare college player like Manziel a couple of years ago.
Griffin III, Cam Newton? Lol yeah he is a once in a lifetime player.

This.

Remember last year when people claimed Stacey Coley was BETTER than Sammy Watkins? Sammy Watkins dominated CFB from day one and was arguably the top receiver in the country last year. Stacey Coley has a great deal of natural ability and unlimited potential as a true freshman, but he had not come close to dominating the way Watkins had. And unfortunately, this year Stacey has regressed.

Asserting that Kaaya is as good or better than the reigning Heisman Trophy winner and National Title QB is equally - if not more - ridiculous than the Coley/Watkins comparison.
