Steele's defenses have always been "bend don't break" they don't give up big plays. I think this is more reflective of taking what the defense gives you in the scrimmage.

Catching the ball should already be a prerequisite to even being on the team.
Dropping the ball repeatedly is a mental block. If you can’t overcome it then you can’t adapt to pressure.
It’s should not be a reflection of a coach. It’s like saying a soccer coach is bad cause a player can’t kick.

If you can’t take the pressure of the competition around you then you can’t take the pressure of being a starter for the tamu game.
You can’t coach a receiver that can’t catch.
