Yeah, what the **** could he know about being a WRs coach, he’s clearly in over his head as both our WRs coach and OC; On January 25, 2018, it was announced he had been hired as the wide receivers coach at Alabama.[6] He served as co-offensive coordinator (with Mike Locksley) and wide receivers coach during the 2018 season at Alabama, helping to oversee the third-highest scoring offense in the country.[7] In his role as wide receivers coach, he oversaw Jerry Jeudy, who became the second consensus All-American wide-out to be coached by Gattis, and first to win the Biletnikoff Award as the nation's best wide receiver.
Below = the 2018 WR's, also all were 2019 WR's under Wiggins the current AHC
Jeudy 5* NFL
Waddle 4* NFL
Ruggs III 4* NFL
Smith 4* NFL

LeedsCane: Tough draw today. Leeds dominated the majority of the match.

Catching the ball ain’t got sht to do with a wide receivers coach!!
Catching the ball should already be a prerequisite to even being on the team.
Dropping the ball repeatedly is a mental block. If you can’t overcome it then you can’t adapt to pressure.
It’s should not be a reflection of a coach. It’s like saying a soccer coach is bad cause a player can’t kick.

If you can’t take the pressure of the competition around you then you can’t take the pressure of being a starter for the tamu game.
You can’t coach a receiver that can’t catch.
Pope had how many coaches?

Catching the ball is either natural or it’s personal effort.

You either catch or you don’t. Only way to improve is crazy repetition which “hopefully” leads to a confidence gain in your brain.

And that's why you have to eval IN PAD film and not underwears foosball.
You have to know what you want to see, and maybe at a camp see if they'll adapt to your method, but you gotta know what you want to see.
Eyes, hands, shoulders, fight, quick tuck etc.

From Rivals. They had both on the ground..

UPDATES

- Xavier Restrepo is dominating early on. Three catches in and the scrimmage just started.
- Offense marched right down the field with the focus continuing to be Restrepo. Ran a nice route on cornerback Tecory Couch
- Offensive line play has been really solid. TVD has been getting comfortable pockets
- Defense responds with a three and out. Big stop on a 3rd and short.
- Defense starting to play tough. James Williams & Leonard Taylor got sacks.
- Citizen down. Lower body injury.
- Defense is looking like another level of physical in this scrimmage
- Restrepo keeps the momentum going on a solid day. Makes a big 3rd down catch
- Defense forces another stop. No big plays happening really. Defense has been bringing a lot of pressure tonight
- Rooster & Parrish looking like the lead backs today
- The dink and dunk offense is continuing. Defense giving up no chunk plays.
- Jake Garcia scores on a zone read run.
- Key’shawn Smith still the only receiver to score. Made it happen on a out route
- Offense still can’t going in the vertical passing attack & still struggling to run the ball. Defense only giving up short/intermediate stuff and even that is contested
- Isaiah Horton catches a big vertical pass along the sideline and then gets hurt. Third player to go down today
- Restrepo is running some routes today. Keeps forcing holding penalties
- Another big catch. This time by Restrepo. WR1 might be crowned today
- Jaleel Skinner is going to be really good. You can see the difference in athleticism. Him & Arroyo will be a matchup nightmare in 2023
- Brashard Smith drops an easy one. Was wide open on a hitch
- and a huge catch by Colbie Young! Contested catch on two defenders
- Elijah Roberts has stepped up today on the DL. Seems to be everywhere
- Chaney running pretty well compared to the other backs.
- Rooster finally gets a nice run. Been a rough day overall for him
- Chaney touchdown catch in the flats
- Mallory big TD catch on a wheel...Took a huge hit. Might have been a sack though
- Steele has been dialing up pressures all night. Different than in years past as the DBs have been pretty stingy behind the pressures
- Frierson beautiful pick in a middle field robber technique. QB didn't even see him.

HEADLINERS

- Restrepo caught about 8 passes tonight. Was virtually uncoverable in the slot. Looks like he’s about 200-pounds right now too. The relationship with TVD is obviously there.
- Defensive coordinator looks like a home run hire if the first scrimmage is what is to come. He brought pressure all night, bringing defensive backs & giving the QBs tough looks. Dominated the run game as well. Not nearly as many voids in coverage despite heavy pressure as with Manny Diaz’s scheme.

Citizen got hurt. Looks like a knee.

Too bad I’m not on the board every 5 minutes 7 days a week or I would become like the arrogant self righteous often without any explanation to support their arguments. ironically these are the brilliant people that saw TVD Pass for 3 touchdowns a game in 5 straight reg season games. Please also name me when we featured a running back that by the next year easily his name was forgotten. Get this through your head the players have changed which has forced the game to change period end of story…now either you get the concept or your just stupid.👍🙌❤️🫠

Injuries aside, I’ll freaking take it.
