Who do we want to lose this weekend?

I'm with you, but the literal ONLY one is putting a H2H winner above the loser when they're back to back.

They're 14/14 in this situation. That cannot be coincidence. The literal only thing they have done consistently is put H2H above when the two teams are adjacent.

Hope they follow that protocol if BYU loses.
They don’t seem to be setting themselves up to put Miami over ND

Have come around to @TheOriginalCane thinking on this after he Kano Fatalitied me yesterday on the subject. At worst for us, it should be a coin flip right now between us and 2-loss Bama (obv it isn't). There is no reason why a 3-loss Bama should be in ahead of us. Obviously, the more convincingly they lose the easier it makes it for the CFP to leave them out. Also Coach could focus all his politicking on reminding America that Bama lost to FSU and got dominated, which is funny as ****.

Another thing I considered is: for us to get in over ND that would mean the committee would have to elevate a 3rd 2-loss team (Oklahoma, Bama, then Miami) into the playoff over ND that they had previously ranked below ND. All the while, ND has won and won very convincingly.

ND would have a legitimate grievance against the committee - much more so against OU (Bama would get the SEC autobid in this scenario) than us - but they would be making their case with their megaphone against us before the final ranking.

The committee clearly wants ND in over Miami (otherwise they would have put us at 10 and ND at 11 last week, that’s easier to justify than moving us above them when both are idle), but they want to protect Bama even more. If Bama loses, they will drop them to 10 and bump ND back up to 9 (unless BYU wins, in which case I think they leave Bama at 9). They moved Bama to 9 precisely to give them breathing room to lose and stay in the playoff.

We NEED Texas Tech to absolutely torch BYU (cannot be close, or they will likely keep BYU at 11 between us and ND), and we NEED Bama to beat Georgia (or else they’ll likely drop Bama to 10 and put them between us and ND).

View this from the perspective that this committee does NOT want to put Miami in over ND unless their hand is absolutely forced, and you’ll see why we NEED both a Texas Tech blowout win and Bama win to have a real chance. And then it’s just a chance, they might still ***** us anyways and put ND at 10 and us at 11.

As an aside, would be nice for Duke and James Madison to win so the ACC would be excluded if they don’t put us in. They might feel some pressure to get an ACC team in.

They are NOT trying to protect Alabama.

They are trying to help the SEC get as many slots as possible.

Let's not forget, Ole Miss was elevated too, right after losing a coaching staff.

This is an SEC-SEC-SEC thing, not an "everybody loves Bama" thing.

If Bama loses by enough, the committee will move them out. But you're not going to be able to pry Oklahoma or Ole Miss from their cold dead hands.

SEC got 3 out of 12 last year. They'll survive with 4 out of 12. ****, if nobody says a word, they'd figure out a way to get 7 out of 12, because Vandy and Texas are just so **** good, right?

The 5th SEC team is just icing on the cake. Maybe the SEC gets it, maybe not.

But god help the worthless Hurricane sinner who actually roots for Alabama this weekend, in the misguided notion that the CFPC will actually remember how to apply the "head-to-head" criterion.

literally this is incorrect

if UVA loses then you are thinking Miami can take the ACC spot

but that is WRONG

it just goes automatically to James Madison or another G5

and makes the ACC look like a laughingstock

you think the CFP is going to help the ACC?!?!

where did I say ACC is guaranteed a spot? learn to read and, more importantly, comprehend

Why do we assume byu would drop
If they lose
The committee will use the championship game loss should not affect you excuse and keep byu at 11
Every champ game loser has dropped

If they lose by anything more than a field goal we have the better resume and it won’t save the committee from the perception that we’re getting screwed

Protecting Bama and protecting the SEC are almost synonymous to me. You think we are better off with a Bama loss than a Bama win? I understand what you are saying, but I do not see it that way. I think the chances of Bama dropping to 11 with a loss are slim (maybe if Georgia absolutely slaughters them in the SECCG or Simpson goes down for the year, but I do not think that is likely), whereas the chances of them dropping to 10 with a loss (and giving the committee a buffer between ND and Miami) are far greater.

Bama is -1400 to make the playoff right now, and they're an underdog in the game against UGA.

The committee isn't pushing an IN Alabama to OUT by losing a game they earned their way into. Not that team. Not that league.
A simple concept that people don’t want to accept. Our best shot is taking ND out and I strongly doubt that happens.

i dont think the commitee cares about that
