Who do we hire as DC ?

The half stepping worries me.
We do t want to wait till the end and all the quality assistants are scooped up.

I try not to name defense coordinators from UGA & Bama because of the talent they have on the team would make Manny Diaz defense look decent.

Leonhard grew up in WI, was a walk-on turned All-American at Wisconsin, and his family loves Madison. He turned down LSU and the Green Bay Packers DC jobs this offseason. Most Wisconsin people think he is effectively HC in-waiting already. This board also has not been favorable towards a 3-4 base at Miami so I'm not sure its a great fit other than him just being awesome at his job.

It might be worth it for the gator tears if Mullen led our offense to the championship. Just keep his weird *** away from any possible recruit.

Zach Arnett is in Miss St, he used to coach at SD St.

You’re thinking of Kurt Mattix, one of Arnett’s understudy, although both of them come from the Rocky Long/Danny Gonzales New Mexico/SD St tree.

My mistake. When I Googled SDSU, it said the DC is Arnett. Must have been an old entry. I think Arnetts name came up on the wish list when Diaz was looking for a DC in the off season. What Mattix is doing there is impressive.

I did not realize MSU has a top 25 defense. That's a Mike Leach team with a top 25 D in total yards allowed. Mind blown.

He’s done well at OK St, he’an old Jim Hofher guy from Cornell & learned under the legend Gary Darnell at West Michigan.

I hated his Defenses at Duke, but since he’s been at OK St they’ve improved every year & this season are in the top 10 in Defense.

See I was a fan of him at Duke. He was getting it done there and Elko was getting it done at Wake Forest during the same time frame all with lesser talent.

I’ve met him.. he’s a weird quirky dude. But he can coach.

Don't kid yourself. Coaches are already working with their agents and peers about next year. The timing of CMD firing and replacement won't have too much of an effect on this

Leach offense ( its like a machine, with some QB name Willy Rodgers) complements his defense: look at Miss State time of possession : Leach beat Kentucky, he had that defense on the field the whole game, Kentucky defense was exhausted, did the same thing to Auburn, Texas A&M. His DC seems to do well with less :
