who do we have to beat to "officially" be a good team?

I've had my heart broken to many times, even the 2017 season when we thought we were "back" only to drop the couple of games while getting embarrassed by Clemson. I think this team is special and could run the table and make some noise in the playoffs hopefully even win a natty but they gotta show me more and win some hardware before I say we're "back" or a "legit playoff team"
This team would blow out that 2017 squad if they played each other.

Win the ACC probably against Clemson, earn a first round bye and then beat Bama in the second round.
Tennessee is going to lose anywhere from 1-3 games. Oklahoma is not elite this year and they barely beat them.

I think we are still getting the miami tax, we have started seasons good before and crashed but we know its legit now but outsiders dont follow like us so we still getting looked at with caution until we sustain it throughout the whole season

For example not many are questioning osu or bama weak schedules because they are proven programs. Until we do this consistently some people wont believe

We are Miami. No rivals are ever going to give us credit. The national media is giving us plenty of love. My vote would be to not listen to a ******* soul, ever, and just crush everyone we play. But if you must seek validation, do it at the national level. Get off twitter and facebook and reddit and message boards. You're dealing with real life mouth breathers who will never admit to you that Miami is a goddamned wagon.

uf ... they say, "oh the swamp, sec athletes, accurate qb, they have size on defense (pause)" ... we smack em 41-17
famu and ball state ... they say, "you beat up on weak competition, etc" ... we didn't beat them up, we demolished them ... we beat them 117-9
usf ... they say, "first real test, they played bama close, they're physical up front, they have an up and coming coach, it's their super bowl" ... we smack em 50-15

at we point are we legit good, without any caveats?
We a legit, good team, fam.... The only things we can't allow to happen, is the "team of me" (in other words, selfishness), or complacency to crumble this thing from the inside. We are playing some good football right now. Now that being said.... just because we a good team in week 5, don't necessarily mean that we will be a good team in week 10.

Who cares... We win out and we get a first round bye. Even if we lose a game and then win out, we still likely get a first round bye. Top 4 conference champs.

Get to the ACCCG and then we get to prove it on the field. Everything before the postseason this year is just eye candy.

Unfortunately our schedule doesn't give us many options to solidify that fact. Of the games left I think the Louisville game is the one that could be the most impactful in regards to our perception of greatness. Thankfully College Football is no longer a popularity contest and 12 teams will have the opportunity to prove if they are a great team.

We are the most talent team in the ACC and have the best QB. We are also built the right way by Mario from the trenches out. All that is a heck of combo and if our players stay focused taking one game at a time we should be in Playoffs at the end of the year. We should get our chance to prove our worth against these other "great teams" later this year. I know us as fans like to look ahead. Hopefully our guys are only focused on VT right now because that's all that matters this week.

Goalpost were being moved after the USF win lol ppl just wanna hate Miami. USF was in a dogfight with Bama on the road until nearly midway through the 4th and we rolled them boys in the second half. I think USF is pretty solid but its clear ppl just wanna reason to hate. To **** with em!
I've seen a few "analysts" point out that we were down 15-14 late in the 2nd quarter. But not a single one has acknowledged that that 15-14 lead lasted literally 40 seconds. Bama's lead was 14-13 with just over 10 minutes to go in the 4th. But... crickets.
