who do we have to beat to "officially" be a good team?

uf ... they say, "oh the swamp, sec athletes, accurate qb, they have size on defense (pause)" ... we smack em 41-17
famu and ball state ... they say, "you beat up on weak competition, etc" ... we didn't beat them up, we demolished them ... we beat them 117-9
usf ... they say, "first real test, they played bama close, they're physical up front, they have an up and coming coach, it's their super bowl" ... we smack em 50-15

at we point are we legit good, without any caveats?

Goalpost were being moved after the USF win lol ppl just wanna hate Miami. USF was in a dogfight with Bama on the road until nearly midway through the 4th and we rolled them boys in the second half. I think USF is pretty solid but its clear ppl just wanna reason to hate. To **** with em!
 
I've had my heart broken to many times, even the 2017 season when we thought we were "back" only to drop the couple of games while getting embarrassed by Clemson. I think this team is special and could run the table and make some noise in the playoffs hopefully even win a natty but they gotta show me more and win some hardware before I say we're "back" or a "legit playoff team"

2017 was smoke and mirrors offense with a defense that caught wave with turnovers and high havoc rate.. Many times some would speak on the offense and get called mopes..

This team is MUCH different with legit playmakers and proven production.
 
I read a site yesterday that said we're losing to GT & Louisville and Cam could win the Heisman, but since our schedule is so bad no one is watching. So...
 
Go 12-0, win the ACC which puts us at 13-0 and then either win our first playoff game or come within a whisker of beating an elite team. We do that, and it's unquestionable that we are a very good team.

If we do all of the above AND beat one of the elite teams (BAMA, OSU*, TENN or MISS), then, no matter what happens after that game, we will be elite in my book and will be a regular in the top 15 going forward.

Exactly. Our schedule is weak so we have a limited margin of error based on that and our history of ****ting ourselves but we’re getting plenty of love.

Fans are a different story, Billy Joe Bob from Birmingham who only watches Bammer play while wearing his houndstooth hat is just going throw out the usual tropes of we suck and don’t play anyone.
