Heupel would check some boxes but he’d be driving all of you guys crazy. Yeah he uses the tight end and the run game and develops quarterbacks but his defenses suck and the crazy hurry up he uses can go 3 and out in under a minute against good teams. Yeah he’s intriguing but he’d need to cut the hurry up out a little bit and take a greater focus on having a good defense.

Taking a few hours to find a new coach was a joke.

With the new (and stupid) early signing period, it probably is advantageous to lose your coach after a bowl game (ala Richt) than after the regular season. There was no rush for Miami to get a new coach in place for signing day, since signing day had already occurred.
 
I wanted Diaz to be like Jimbo was to Bowden, when he left I was disappointed, then Richt left and I prayed Diaz would consider us and was pleased he did. I know Rome wasn't built in a day and all the current successful coaches had growing pains. I think Diaz has a better situation and understanding then any of our recent hires. I heard the same garbage when JJ was hired, same when Erickson was hired...same when Butch was hired...ridiculous not to give our coaches time to recruit what THEY need to win. Diaz brought us a great defense. Our previous coaches found getting Quality coaches with what we can offer was far more difficult when comparing COLA and resources that the gator or noles have to offer. Under JJ and Erickson look at how soon many of those assistants got HC or NFL jobs too.
 
Man idk anymore. Pretty much all of the hot name candidates have flamed out over the last few years.


I couldn’t even tell you who is legit.

I didnt have the time I needed to conduct a HC search because Blake jumped all over Manny. I would have gone with Mike Gundy though. I really wanted Richt to stay and hire Gundy's OC (Yurcich), but Richt was incapable of making qualified hires also. Then Ohio State snapped up Yurcich and we see what they're doing.
 
urban. based on the way we are setup, school dropping bags, diva kids in our area, we need a boss, a mth fcking gangster....... URBAN MEYER!!!!! we need someone who will win at NO cost. this is the only way we will ever get back on the top, in my opinion
 
Mario all the way and yes he was interested and wanted to come back home. But that ship has sailed and he is building something special at Oregon with a really good staff. Blake James search was a joke and his hire was a lazy one. If we want to really win we need a new AD.
