Who are AD names?

Of the three on my list, I think Puritan would be the most probable to come.

What’s your thought on him?
Purinton is a FSU graduate. Any problem there? Silly, but we rag on Manny for being an FSU grad.

I do like how he's been directly involved with the Bama Football Machine since 2007.

That along with his Orange Bowl ties and his breath of experience across sports makes him interesting to me

Rad isn't coming, same with Cunningham. They are at places where they have no limitations whatsoever. Miami is a job where you have to work within budgets and you don't have an overly deep donor pool.

Puritan is most likely holding out for a huge state school job. He knows full well how much resources matter. That's why I want a guy that is comfortable with and has thrived in an environment similar to Miami. Hocutt came here and freaked out because this school will never be managed like KSU. Eichorst had a lot of the same problems, plus he was repellant to donors.

We don't have the money or the cache to poach an AD from a top P5 (or even Group of 5) and that's perfectly fine. Boston College hired Ohio State's #2 a few years back (Martin Jarmond) and he hired Hafley while he was there before moving on to UCLA.

Jim Curry from FSU, Scott Carr from UCF (was interim AD there), Chip Howard from UF, Mark Rountree at GT, or Jeff Purtinton at Bama would all be great hires if we are looking regionally
BC hired the Temple AD (Pat Kraft) who hired Rule, Geoff Collins and then Manny. I’d say he went 3/3 on hires.

Football guy, played at IU. Literally doing a whole bunch of renovations for the football team at BC. New lockeroom, doing new coaches offices, got 2 practice fields and they’re working on a few other things. He’s such a bro when you talk to him lol good dude and football is a priority for him.

I like the sound of UCF AD Michael Kelly.

I still am on the thought of Gino and Zo. Gino to run as the AD and Zo to run the football operations. Seems as tho many schools have multiple helper Asst ADs and this would be in that vein. After watching Coach Hayes video and I think it would work great here. Zo might not be groomed for an AD role, but football he knows.

I’m not so sure. Whoever comes may have plenty of resources and be allowed to build the department as they see fit.

As for Cunningham and Radakovich, I believe they’d be long shots but you just never know if they’re ready for the Florida beaches. I just hope we pull a proven experienced AD. We need their help.

Where are these resources you people want to believe exist? Compared to the typical factory school, there are limitations at Miami. Unlike a school like Alabama that can go out and overpay for the hottest name out there, Miami has to make sane hires within a budgetary footrprint. Unless someone decides to step up and be Miami's version T. Boone Pickens, there will always be some limitations based on our donor and alumni base. Numbers tend to not lie.

A good Miami AD understands how to work within those limitations and has the wherewithal to build the department out in a way that maximizes the resources that are available.

There’s always limitations I suppose but the extent of which I can’t be sure. What’s your guess on it?

CHUD & ALONZO HIGHSMITH (AD)

Follow the model of what Georgia did. Hire the next whiz kid, but they absolutely have to have some football on their resume. I don’t care if that is playing D3. Football somewhere is a must. Can be playing, coaching, staff, admin, but it is a must.

Bring me any of these...

I know we think money isn’t an issue, but at some point you know it is, and a guy like Greene for example, why would he come here? Are we going to pay him more than he’s making at Auburn? Tyra is a Kentucky lifer, I doubt you’re pulling him out of Louisville.

I know you’re just listing competent guys who would be a clear upgrade over James. But what’s the realistic path to getting these dudes? You see us pulling a P5 AD?
