Who’s the most underrated Miami player ever?

The answer is probably a lineman. I don't think folks ever really appreciate how those guys affect games.
Joaquin comes to mind although he was lauded plenty by us fans, and may have even been named an AA.

Great example.
There were a few guys during that stretch that kinda suffered because it was our first real years of struggling. Guys like CMac, Kareem Brown, Beason gets a lot of love but these guys were all following NFL HOFs it had us fans a little spoiled

It's probably Knowles, as much as he was hated here. But based on NFL players, I'll go with Gus Edwards
Knowles? Underrated? He was awful. He was on Kacey Rogers, AJ Highsmith level of bad. I'm sure some will bring up his one decent game against FSU, but that guy made me cringe every play he was on the field. Great guy, good teammate, outstanding student athlete, but not a good football player.

Are you thinking of Sheldrick Redwine? He was a bit underrated. Think he finally got some respect and credit by his senior year.

Kenny Phillips imo

I think obviously with his hype it skews things a bit but then following in such legendary footsteps he was underrated with what he actually did here

He’s a bit of an afterthought sometimes but he was really **** good
Agree!!!! Remmeber his freshman yr in 05(beginning of the downfall) and heb showed he was a problem!!!

I might be in the minority here, but I thought Mo Sikes was a bit overrated. I think he was an above average safety with decent cover skills. I guess it's not his fault he played in the same backfield with two of the best safeties to play college football. I always thought Mo Sikes was very suspect against the run. I remember him taking bad angles and missing tackles frequently on running plays. Again, I don't think he was a bad player by all means, just not as good as some of us remember him.

Now Darryl Williams, that guy was amazing, and we hardly ever talk about him in our conversations with our best safeties.
DW is up there in canes safety Mount Rushmore.

And no1 talks about him. 2x all American who dominated

Kenny Phillips is a great example. Feel like he was awesome his freshman year. Pretty sure his freshman year he sealed the win in Death Valley.

My vote would have to be Sean Spence. He always have a nose for the football.
