Just bailed on Pitt before bowl game. What’s the odds he saw El Jefe back and knew he didn’t stand a chance? Lol

didn't care for him, relied too much on throwing with a ton of three and outs. Running game wasn't great under him.

Mark Whipple is very much an NFL style offensive coordinator. He’s not the typical college OC who relies on scheme to create numbers mismatches. He uses film of opponents to find weak spots and game plans accordingly. He knew who to target in our secondary and attacked the same guys relentlessly. His weakness gets exposed if he doesn’t have an accurate vertical passer or an offensive line that can pass protect for long periods of time. He relies a lot on play action and deep drops with slow developing routes so if you can rush the passer, he struggles to adjust his scheme.

Pass-heavy NFL system. He'd do great with TVD, and struggle with a mediocre QB.

Good coordinator, but we have options now. We can do better.
