Do you think there is still a split title if Miami has one loss(BYUThe 1990 season is the strangest in college football history. Almost all of the top teams played each other; hence, why everyone had blemishes, and most had 2 losses. It was incest.
The exception was Georgia Tech. They drew a mediocre UNC team, but otherwise got through unscathed (including an epic game at UVA). GT probably should have been outright national champion, but the fact that the other top teams played each other (Colorado played almost EVERYONE), led to a split title for the Buffs.
No idea my friend. I just hope we're WAY BETTER than last year.A 12-0,13-0 season is unlikely to happen IMO based on all the changes but which of these seasons you want this season to resemble to build momentum for 2024 and have a strong recruiting class?
Colorado did lose a game.Do you think there is still a split title if Miami has one loss(BYU) and Colorado drops a game? I always thought about that scenario.
Correct.
The whole premise of OP's question is bizarre and unanswerable.
Where is 1989? We lose our starting QB, lose to FSU, but get our starter back, and roar to the national title!Where is 1983?
Scrappy bunch of rag-tags that shocks the world.
The turnaround begins to happen on the field when Dorsey comes in to close out the year in 1999. It was also happening in the recruiting classes of the late 90s.I went with 98.... The Edge game vs UCLA was when the turn really took place.... I mean there's other things to point at but that game and his performance took things next level....
Like I said you could point to other moments but I watched it when it happened and saw the aftermath towards what it setup for the following season...There was a ton of momentum heading into 99 because of that game....Believe me I'm not knocking you nor am I advocating for Corben, I'm just saying for what I witnessed with my own eyes I draw my own conclusion towards it...The turnaround begins to happen on the field when Dorsey comes in to close out the year in 1999. It was also happening in the recruiting classes of the late 90s.
The UCLA game was a really nice one-off, but this idea that it was the mark of a turnaround is false. That's a Billy Corben fairy tale.
1990. Two losses with a strong finish in a major bowl.
Miami 46, Texas 3
So, TVD is injured for the season and JB comes in and goes wild the last 4 games? Or perhaps Emory Williams? The turnaround begins to happen on the field when Dorsey comes in to close out the year in 1999. It was also happening in the recruiting classes of the late 90s.

That'd have to be Emory Williams, and I don't think he's at that level. So, TVD is injured for the season and JB comes in and goes wild the last 4 games? Or perhaps Emory Williams?
