Wasnt alive for 85. 11/11/17 was **** near a perfect Saturday night.

I’ll raise you us beating FSU in tally with langham’s 4th down catch. That lil hope under Richt to give us a pulse was major.

I know we blew houston out with their heisman QB. What was the significance at that time?
Houston was destroying teams, and the Cougars coach talked about coming out into the field with a chain wrapped around his hand. Miami wasn’t given that much credit and we absolutely obliterated them. It really ended Houston as a respectable program for about a decade and a half, I was their that night and it was a big game atmosphere.

I loved the OB, but I think lovers of the OB underplay that the 2017 game was one of the best atmospheres of all-time. Herbie on the broadcast said he hadn’t heard a louder environment. Even the squids over on the Domer board were in awe. Can’t wait for more of these games.

Imagine being a Domer and actually thinking fans of other teams hate you because they're jealous

The 1989 Notre Dame game is my number one favorite non-bowl Miami game. Got our revenge for the prior year’s loss at South Bend, and it fell on my 25th birthday. The Irish were number one and we took their lunch money and danced with their dates. Legendary 3rd-and-43 play, part of an 11 minute drive to more or less seal the game. Notre Dame had no chance. Miami pitches a shut out if not for a fumble to set up a field goal and a pick-six off Craig Erickson.

The 1994 Florida State game is my second favorite non-bowl Miami game. Probably the most physical collegiate game I’ve ever watched. Both teams were bringing the pain. Miami took over with a minute left in the first half, on a great play call for a short TD pass from Ryan Collins to Derek Harris, and Carlos Jones’ 4th quarter pick-six to seal the win sounded like a nuclear bomb going off. And I was home watching on television!

Three more games to make my top five:

1998 vs UCLA
2001 vs Washington
2002 at Florida

The game the next week was against Virginia, and even though it was at noon, it was absolutely packed. Bull****.

I mean honestly there are no wrong answers, lol. For me it was 1985 after all the years ND used this game as a "getaway" when visiting Miami. I know they pummeled ND 20-0 in '83 I believe in the OB, but the '85 beating was in front a former coach and a coach on his way out. A real thing of beauty on all accounts.
2018 coming back to win 28-27 at home vs FSU. The Redwine sack fumble and Pinckney pick had me jacked up!

Former ND coach Ara Parseghian was the color commentator on the CBS broadcast back in '85.

He went silent in despair as time ran out in the fourth quarter and we were gleefully running up the score.

Finally, a somber Parseghian gathers himself and mutters "the Irish will rise again" as the final seconds count down.

Was at that game! Bennie Blades high fiving as he ran down the sidelines on a pick six. Ole Ara Parsegian crying we ran it up on ole ND and Gerry Faust.

Jimmy put in 3rd string guys by mid 4th quarter. If you can stop 3rd stringers from scoring on you, then you deserve to have the score run up on you.
