Where is the Gators hype coming from?

He's in the SEC they get a hype bonus! An above average QB in the SEC becomes a "DAWG that is a DEFINTLY a 1st rounder". See on the other hand a QB that WINS the SEC championship and goes to the ACC is "Overrated, and will never come back after the surgery". You should have known this Mr. Money! I thought you were a smart?

they do have a much better team than UF without question. i dont see first overall pick with what weve seen from arch so far (which is where hes expected to go )

Undeserving Lagway hype + how they finished last season + some young talent in Baugh, some of the secondary players, and a veteran OL that’s expected to make a jump with who some consider the best center in America. I think Caleb Banks is legit too, but it all hinges on Lagway. Talented kid yes, but he has a very, very long way to go. Looking forward to the matchup.
 
I agree but I think it’s the following.

Lagway
They return the left side of their line which was solid in LT Austin Barber, LG Knijah Harris, and C Jake Slaughter who was an AA last year.
They have two backs that looked good last year in Jaden Baugh and Jakobi Jackson
They have some young pup WRs in Wilson, Brown, and Montgomery to pair with Sturdivant, Mizell (deep threat and lagways go to), and a healthy Tre Wilson.
They return Caleb Banks, George Gumbs, and Tyreak Sapp on their dline that finished last year strong.
The coaching staff includes a new OC but Billy is still calling plays and they got rid of the tool shed DC and have now Robert’s calling the shots with two former Saban assistants as Co-DCs.

They are also excited about Grayson Howard, Shariff Denson, Lj McCray, Cormani, and LBs Aaron Gates and Aaron Chiles that are in the mold of Bobby Pruitt.

Also, there’s also a 99% chance Marco Rubio will be in the stadium supporting his son who is a walk on at UF and may try to pull some political shenanigans now that he’s Secretary of State.

We can’t take them lightly, but that’s where this hype is coming from.

B/c they ended the season a 4 game winning streak that included beating one top 25 team & one top 10 team. It’s called momentum. When teams end seasons on a high note, especially w a QB change, they get hyped. Were we not hyped after winning 5/6 to end the ‘21 season w TVD? Did we not start the year ‘22 as a top 20 team despite going 7-5 in 2021?

That’s y pandering to off season fluff means nothing until the pigskin is hiked on Saturday.
 
Just the SEC hype train based on these huge media contracts...nothing else to see here.
The Lagway tie-ins are the proof...yet another athletic dude that can't play QB and will probably be drafted high too...seen this before haven't we?
They will be playing only for bowl eligibility and that's it. You'll see.

CFP contender ? I doubt it.

Top 15 ish finish? Definitely possible.

Their defense is what will carry them. Long as Napier is calling the plays the offense will be boring af but with big play ability. Even w Lagway.

Im worried about them more this year than last tbh. But to be clear, I still expect us to stomp them.

If you think uf is a contender to make the conference championship you should see this Lamborghini Urus I'm selling for 34.99.
 
Mostly just retention of the O-line and D-line, who are rated high, like Jake Slaughter, Caleb Banks, and Tyreak Sapp, who are projected first-round picks, but the schedule is brutal, and I don't see them winning past eight games. Billy will be gone by November, is my prediction.
