Where do Pro Bowlers come from?

We are in the middle of one of the best recruiting areas in the country. That much is certainly true. However, this board and many of its respected voices are guilty of overexuberance and hyperbole when it comes to talking about South Florida recruits.

People on here act like Alabama’s roster is filled with South Florida players when that’s never been the case. They take an elite player here and there and they do well but most of their team aren’t South Florid guys. Some of our best players ever aren’t Miami guys.

With that being said I like the staffs current approach, 70% Florida and 30% out of state, I think that works well. We just have to land the cream of the crop in that 70%, which like it or not we largely haven’t done yet.

Nobody “acts” like that. Some of their best players have been south florida guys, though. Just another stupid strawman argument to distract from the cold hard facts.

DMoney has been stacking L's on this subject lately. Fun to watch. I have nothing of substance to add.

I want a break down of Alabama and Georgia's roster.

South florida is better than everywhere else, it can be inferred that all the teams that are better than miami have more south florida kids.

I had no idea Bama had 14 Texas kids on their roster.

2. Jalen Hurts - QB - 6-218
2. Tony Brown - DB - 6-0
14. Tyrell Shavers - WR - 6-6
14. Deionte Thompson - DB - 6-2
18. Montana Murphy - QB - 6-3
19. Xavian Marks - WR - 5-8
21. Jared Mayden - DB - 6-0
30. Ryan Burns - DB - 6-0
31. Xavian Marks - WR - 5-8
37. Donavan Mosey - DB - 5-10
44. Kendrick James - TE - 6-5
45. Thomas Fletcher - LS - 6-2
79. Chris Owens - OL - 6-3
88. Major Tennison - TE

I’ve read on here many times that the reason Alabama wins is because they get so many South Florida kids, my point is that they really don’t get that many and that they recruit other areas the same way, nitpicking the best talent from everywhere.

I'm a Miami Hurricanes fan and alumnus.

That doesn't mean I have to buy the kool aid on South Florida kids, does it? Especially when half of them don't even choose to come here (and none on that Pro Bowl list, by the way).

I get that you're a proud local, Tony, but not all 'Canes are. People come from all over America to attend the U.

What “kool aid,” you idiot?

There’s more players from the City of Miami in the NFL than any other city in the country. Pointing out that SIX kids from South Florida are pro bowlers in one random year—as many as the entire state of georgia—doesn’t help whatever “point” you’re attempting to make.

So stop making these dumb threads. You’re empirically wrong. South Florida produces the best football players in the country. That’s why the entire country is camped out recruiting here. That’s why Miami had 25 NFL players in 2016. Ft. Lauderdale had 16. That’s 41 NFL players from two counties alone, if that—not even counting Palm Beach. The next highest city was Houston at 16. Again, you’re empirically wrong so you aren’t going to convince anybody of whatever you’re trying to convince them about. Stop spamming the board with stupid threads.
Boom

I want a break down of Alabama and Georgia's roster.

I can give you a breakdown of their offensive touchdowns scored on Monday- 2/3 of them (six out of nine) came from South Florida guys. And since the topic of this thread is the 2018 Pro Bowl, South Florida produced as many Pro Bowlers as the entire state of Georgia and more than the entire state of Alabama.

Tuscaloosa and Athens are over 600 milles away from Miami. Alabama buys billboards and flies helicopters to recruit down here. We can just drive. That's why South Florida is so relevant to us.

Nobody in this thread-- not even OP-- has tried to dispute that South Florida is the densest, most fertile recruiting area in the world. It is objective fact. If that point is conceded, what point are you guys trying to prove?

The bigger elephant in room is now we have to be south Florida fans because the top players aren't playing for miami. This is not a good feeling.. we have got to stop the bleeding..

S.Florida is great no doubt and is very fertile with the amount of space it has to work with, but to be blinded to think Miami days of old didn't recruit all over is a joke. I know a few personally and we are drawn by the swag and South Beach something the latter Texas can't provide.

we need out of state offensive linemen and defensive tackles from the rural south thats the bottom line

Shouldn’t the team with the most So Fla kids be the best, or very close to it?

Of course not. Getting the BEST So Fla talent is what matters.

And, yes, I do believe that this area has the most tal3nt in the country.

If that point is conceded, what point are you guys trying to prove?

Putting too many eggs in the So Fla basket will come back to bite you. Elite programs recruit nationally. We do to some extent. Could do better. Most fertile recruiting comes with the most fragile mindset.

More clowns inventing more lies to support their objectively false agenda.

Talk to DJ Johnson about a "fragile mindset."

Are you suggesting that we stop recruiting the Josh Jobes, Dalvin Cooks, Sony Michels and Patrick Petersons, because you're afraid of losing them? That's a fragile mindset, and anybody who thinks like that shouldn't be coaching at the University of Miami.

Kind of surprised about Ohio. Had no idea Kuechly and Bell were from here

That's probably because many here don't see anything outside of South Florida. Top talent exists all over the country. We have an impressive collection of talent here, but talent is everywhere. You get top talent from wherever you need to go to get it.
