Richt, the QB whisperer?

Fisher and Richt are both known for developing quarterbacks, so it's interesting that Richt's teams have a slightly higher passer rating (147.4) than what Fisher produced with the Seminoles (146.7).

Miami Hurricanes head coach Mark Richt is seen on the sidelines during the second quarter against the Clemson Tigers in their ACC Championship game Saturday, Dec. 02, 2017 in Charlotte, NC. (MONICA HERNDON | Times)

Mark Richt
Points per game: 33.2 (36th)
Passer rating: 147.40 (18th)
Yards per rush: 4.77 (35th)

Jimbo Fisher
Points per game: 34.59 (25th)
Passer rating: 146.71 (21st)
Yards per rush: 4.76 (36th)

Jimbo Fisher
With Jameis Winston (2013-14)
Average S&P+ rank: 10
Yards per play: 7.03
Passer rating: 158.33
Points per game: 42.7
Without Jameis Winston
Average S&P+ rank: 34.3
Yards per play: 6.26
Passer rating: 143.39
Points per game: 32.3

Taggert did a good job while at USF. He got good production out of decent but not top class talent. on offense. I saw a fair number of their games on TV ( I live in Tampa). What I saw was a generally competantly run offense, so I don"t forsee any serious offensive issues in the way he will oversee FSU's offense. We just need our defense to be better.

Here’s the thing. Taggert is proving he can’t recruit for **** and our offense being able to keep up with people is a bigger issue to me.

He is doing a great job recruiting. He is landing all of those elusive 3 stars. 3 stars > 5 stars.
Yea...his evals must suck. Especially since Penn State and OU pull more of those 3* stars than them.

Still bitter from getting your *** handed to you I see.

You were the one that got destroyed in the argument. You started making up stats to fit your agenda. Regardless, you love when we land 3 stars, but when Mullen lands them they are bad? Pick one and stick with it.

No homie, you didn’t.

You’re were sitting there arguing that we need more 4-5 stars and and only take a minimal amount of these three stars because the “gurus” rank these guys this and that.

Since you “won” the argument tell me how USC can’t beat Washington even though USC has a higher “blue chip” ratio?

Tell how OU is consistently in discussion for the National championship when the average 9 + 3* stars a year?

Tell how a UGA team built on top of a Mark Richt 2015 recruiting class that had 16 3* stars in it took Blue Chip king Alabama to OT

Then after all of that, tell me how Michigan can’t beat Wisconsin and Penn State even though they have a higher blue chip ratio than the both of them?

So what’s the difference Mr. Blue Chip? Why does this happen since to you evals don’t matter and we need more blue chips.

Why can't Rutgers beat OSU even though Rutgers has more 3 stars? Why can't Purdue beat Michigan? Why can't Fresno State beat Bama? We can go this route if you like. I will name a **** of a lot more teams were the teams with higher blue chip percentages win. USC beat Washington last year. OU is only in the discussion because they are in the worst conference in the P5. They also have the best QB in college football. Without Baker they wouldn't have even come close to beating UGA. UGA you mean the team with the 2nd most 5 stars in the nation? The team was not built around 3 stars. The players it was built upon was blue chips. Chubb, Sony, Smith, Wynn, Eason, and Carter. Only 4 teams in the entire P5 have less 3 stars then UGA. Kirby is no longer going after 3 stars because he has bigger targets. Michigan is your only example that actually has any merit, but Harbaugh is a terrible coach.

Anecdotal answer. G5’s/lower P5 programs can’t compete because bigger programs with (for the most part) better staffs usually IDENTIFY who there can play and who can’t and they take them. Trying to argue why Fresno State, Purdue, FIU, or FAU can’t compete as a reason to take more 4 stars is absolutely moronic for that very reason. Big time P5 programs will steal someone they think can play from a G5/low P5 9 times out of 10. That’s why they can’t compete.

You really are dumber then I initially thought. You started arguing with me using anecdotes so I fired a few right back at you. Fresno State, Purdue, Fiu, etc. can have Belichick as their HC and they wont win **** because they are stacked with 3 stars. The good teams steal all the blue chips and they get stuck with 3 stars. Get your head out of your ***. Anyone with half a brain can tell that you are just grasping for straws to save face.

So 3* star guys can be blue chips too? Then wtf are trying to argue? That’s been my entire point...

No blue chips are 4-5 stars. The p5 teams take all the 4-5 stars and the G5 teams get stuck with the 3 stars. Obviously a 3 star can turn out to be great, but the majority of the time they don't. This is why it is important to recruit MAINLY 4-5 stars, but you can take a few 3 stars who you evaluate and believe they will be able to become great in the future.

Would love to see what the DC version of this suggests.

Clearly our offensive haul of targets justify, if not exceed, CMR #19 spot.

Would Diaz be ranked higher than his recruiting talent? Or would it be in line.

Why do you say he can't recruit?
Because it’s only July and 3 of his top prospects are probably not going to stick. Plus his only real big names he’s probably going to add is Nick Cross and Will Putnam.

They aren’t in UiF’s territory where it’s obvious but there’s definitely a dropoff.
