Got bored and decided to check on some of the players who transferred out.
Bizarre what has happened to some of these kids. Seems like they can't even stiff it at low levels. Mind boggling and bizarre, given most of these guys who left were 4 star recruits (or better).

This team was supposedly loaded with blue chip players.

Jarren Williams went from Miami to Garden City C.C. to USF to Alabama A&M. Can't seem to sniff a thing. IDK what happened to him. He's out here posting crazy stuff on twitter lol...
What is going on with this? What is your take as to why this is happening? Is Miami killing players? Are a lot of these guys getting recruiting ranking bumps because they played in South Florida? Jarren Wiliams, Payton, Pope were all borderline 5 stars. Lingard was a 5 star.

Feel free to add stats for any players that I forgot.

Christian Williams at USF this season. Playing Safety, not CB. Interesting.

Thanks for compiling this.

There are exceptions, but this is why I'm not crazy about the portal. You really have to sift through a lot of nondescript football players to find players that can produce or help a team.
That's why I don't like the argument of "Mario could have fixed the roster with the transfer portal after seeing the team in spring, but he chose not to" argument. You really have to dig for quality in the portal.

You will be able to do the exact same thing next year when this years guys hit the portal. For what ever reason talent comes to die at Miami. This is why I have to give Mario another year or two.

And I think Pope left JSU, could be mistaken though..
he seemed to try to nd the portal spit him back in and he was back at JSU.

The south florida thing is funny considering only 2 listed were from s.fla and 1 in Wiggins was starting at Louisville got injured...and Pope got caught up in the JSU hype and went there and i think was injured but JSU has some nice wrs as well...kid should have transferred else where. The other kids listed arent from s.fla

It can be argued that miami best players the last few years have been portal guys.. We were on it early so I could imagine with higher competition from top teams will make it harder (big bank take lil bank) but we have benefited from portal

Which makes it easier for them to leave and less blow back.. Where do our local guys go when they already "home" and what is backlash of "dropping" a ton of local guys who all flamed out.. Can we blame ALL the players sucking?!
