September 5, 1987. It was my 13th birthday and my parents had gotten me and my younger brother tickets for the home opener vs. the Florida Gayturds. We walked in thru the main entrance on the west side of the stadium. No matter how sunny it was out, when you walked thru the turnstiles, that area of the stadium was always a little dim. However, when we walked thru the tunnel in the lower part of the west end zone to take our seats, it was the brightest sun I'd ever seen. It felt like one of those moments when the tune plays and you're having an epiphany of some sort. At that moment I knew I was a Cane for life. Have had season tickets ever since. As we all know, the Canes went on to thrash UF and Heisman hopeful Kerwin ("For Whom the Bell Tolls") Bell. I don't recall the exact attendance that day, but the OB was packed and rockin'.
GO CANES!!!!
