When did you know this team was different?

The 4-0 run in November when every team since 03 has crumbled and even the media/committee wrote us off

Absolutely put belt to the *** 4 P4 teams and a ranked Pitt team at home who was wanting to make the conference championship with a win so it wasn’t like they were laying down and we smoked them

Notre Dame game...The entire team looked like its supposed to...
Yep. You could tell from the first defensive possession that we finally have a team that knocks the other one backwards, for the first time in over 20 years. The David Blay play on 3 and 1 where stuffed CJ Carr immediately comes to mind.

Different to last year- ND. The defense would have been cooked with 2024 staff.

Different than the last 20 years- Pitt. Not only did they not fold under the pressure, they outperformed. beating Texas A&M just further confirms things.

Talentwise at Hard Rock vs. ND. We dominated them score was deceptive because we went into clock-kill mode in Q3 and they climbed back into it.

Capable of making a run wasn't until at Pitt when we smothered them in all facets of the game.

November was impressive, No way I thought they’d run the table and make the playoffs after those two losses. Mario and the team deserve a ton of credit. I’m officially off the 8-4 into perpetuity wagon. They’ve grown a lot, and Saturday for me, being a defensive minded guy, was **** near a Picasso, a work of art. To go to Kyle field and hold that team to a field goal…… i mean, a guy knocked himself out making a tackle and knocking the ball out on the goal line with the game on the line. That’s Hurricane football. I was an undergrad at Miami in the 70’s, so I’ve seen some good defenses, this one has my attention.
My Bama coworker even said gawd **** he (pruitt) wasn't slowing down on that punt. **** near killed concepcion

I purchased tickets to the pitt game before the louisville game so we hadn't even lost yet

by the time the pitt game came around I had hope creeping back into my head but I knew that it was a let down spot

sitting there in the cold in Pittsburgh and watching us absolutely dominate made me believe that this is different

When they manhandled Florida in the trenches and caused the Florida to have the worst PFF grades in history. Keep in mind, Florida was a top 5 OL going into the game.

The moment in Hard Rock when Popo Aguirre closed down Love on a swing pass. It was all instinctive, no hesitation. That was a far cry from the defense we saw last year.

I will answer this after Ohio State. We have not played anyone for real. The Ohio state game will answer the question if we are Championship level back.

Running through our conference and 11 win seasons I would say after the Florida game
I get the whole “CJ Carrs first start” thing but that ND team was a very good team n we dominated them until easing up on em on purpose. That’s when I knew this team was built different

Thought it was different after ND and then confirmed further against UF and FSU.

Backtracked those thoughts Oct 17 and Nov 1.

Was still skeptical until after Pitt. Winning on the road there and the way we finished the year was hard to deny. Saturday confirmed that.

When we did less dancing on the sidelines and after big plays and WHEN WE ACTUALLY PLAYED FRESHMAN over upperclassman because they were just better !!

The Louisville game.

Threw 4 picks and took their best effort and still barely lost. In the past, we get blown out with that performance.

After SMU, I knew 100% the problems were more coaching than talenr, as usual. but when Dawson switched it up and we caught fire, I was sure we could win it all if we somehow made the playoff.

Dawson is the most important factor to a title run. He has to be on top of his game.

If he is the most important factor, Beck has to be subcorollary 1a

There isn’t one single point for me.

Regardless of record during the season, there were things my eyes were consistently seeing on defense I had not seen come through this program since I was a kid.

Speed, size, ball hawking, fundamentally sound football. It felt like Miami again.

(2017 defense was solid and fun as **** to watch, but its ceiling and talent were never like this)
