When did Golden "lose you?"

I'll admit I was with RS till the end. I just can't do it, it feels too much like turning on my team and the season. I get super frustrated as well. I see all the same garbage you guys do as well. I just look at it as, If we lose then we will get the change we desire, but to give up after the first game and calling for a coaching change (which we can never do right now as there are no coaches to come in and finish the season) just feels like giving up. I can't do it. I do not have a ton of faith in our staff right now, but I come to this site too often, follow too much recruiting, etc to give up on the season. I will always hope for a canes win.

But if I were to point at one thing that was the moment I really was the most worried about the staff was the RAB. That was the first game when I felt like he lost the team. In other situations it still felt like the players were behind him. After seeing TH3 on the sidelines the other night, its obvious that there are some older players on this team that have ZERO faith in this staff. Which will only lead us to worse situation in the future. TH3 should not leave the field at this point, tams do not even throw at him.. but yet we run the revolving door at every position but QB.

Heres to at the very least, hoping that these kids can get some wins in spite of our coaching deficiencies.......

Good question. I am TRYING like all **** to hold on...but he will officially lose me if we leave the month of September with a record 2-3. I dont want to jump the gun just yet because IF (HUGE IF) we somehow beat NEB and then come home the next week and beat Duke...We will be back on track. But if we get embarassed on national TV against NEB and then come home to and lose to Duke, I will be done. I am hoping that Al knows that this month will decide whether he will still be our coach next year or not. He can still salvge this.

When Butch lost to WASH in 2000, I was so ****ed at him that I wanted his a$$ gone the next day. We go on to blow out WVU and then Rutgers and then he ends up getting his biggest victory of his tenure against FSU.

I am in no way trying to make anyone think positive. I am as ****ed as anyone. Had the UM/UL watch party at my spot and kicked everyones a$$ out after we lost. (needless to say I had to send out some apologies yest. LOL.) But one win against NEB can turn this thing around.

I just refuse to believe that the likes of Duke Johnson and Anthony Chick are gonna go out like this. At this point, its time to see what these kids and this staff are made of. EVERYONE is against them. The nation has left them for dead..**** you got Sean Salisbury even blasting you! The alumni are against you...90% of the fan base are ready to check out...All they have is each other. If they cant come together as a coaching staff and as a team and somehow get this back on track..then they dont deserve our time or our money. We have been loyal to Al for long enough. Its time for us to start reaping some of the rewards of our loyalty.

All i am hoping for at this very moment. Is that Golden loses everyone that has control over firing his ***. Mondays night game showed everyone. That he will never be ready to compete at the level.

He couldn't even lose in a good showing fashion. He still looked like he was in 2011 Maryland game.

I have been (and still am) a Golden supporter, but my patience is about over. I am trying to hold out hope that he is the right guy to lead this team. I don't think he has the right support staff right now though. Maybe there is a reason Jimbo wouldn't give Coley the play calling capabilities.

I have a feeling if he has another 7 or 8 win season the University will keep him, but after that he needs to step it up to 9 or 10 and compete for a BCS bowl berth.

Go 'Canes.

Now, don't try and be the cool guy and say, the Maryland game in 2011, or after his first press conference. For me, it was somewhere around the Wake Forest game last year, though the nail in the coffin was the Va Tech game. I stopped defending him after the Kansas State game in 2012, though I didn't start attacking him until the next season.

Just to play off of that, I got to thinking, and I stopped supporting Coker after the UNC and Clemson losses in 2004, though I didn't start ripping him publicly until the GT loss in 2005. I did have reservations about him going back to 2002, because I remember thinking, with all of this talent, we sure did play down to a lot of our opponents that year (WVU, Rutgers, even FSU). With Shannon, I stopped supporting/defending him after the GT game in 2008, though I didn't start ripping him until the next year. Some after the Clemson game, mostly after the UNC game, and all broke loose after the Wisconsin debacle.

I remember getting into a good back and forth with you after that Wake Forest game. I was livid after that game and you were saying that it wasn't as bad as I was making it out to be.

With regards to when, I'm really not sure. As a fan, I keep having hope and telling myself to be patient. I guess I'm like that mope that keeps catching his girlfriend ******** around but keeps taking her back. I'm done with Al's *** right now, but sadly he'll pull me back in. Not because of anything that he does, but because I love the Canes so **** much. It sux......to be....a...................

this is the most maddening and sickening line of BS. why do "fans" think like this? you think Bama or L$U or any real program would just say, well 7 or 8 wins is pretty good, maybe we can win 9 or 10 next year. after seeing the HORRIBLE defense we've fielded for going on 4 years now?

the reality is that F/A/G should have been fired after the bowel game. any real program would have fired him. we are dead in the water with these ********

Lmao @ anyone who said "he hasn't yet". Off yourselves.

If you weren't done with this **** after Wake Forest last year then you're just blind.

Va Tech did it for me.

Their QB was horrendous against every team, but ours. We made him look like an All-ACC player. I was just dumbfounded that we let him sit back and pick us apart. No other defense did that. It was maddening.

Signs were troubling prior to then, but for me, last year's UNC game.

And it can't fairly be said he lost me. More of waiting for the evidence on my original hypotheses. I think Al is a great guy. Perfect for turnaround projects. But doesn't have the killer instinct necessary to win at the highest levels.

This right here. Must win game over the worst VT tech team in 20 years. And they pound us. That's when I knew it would NEVER happen with Golden. Later than some, earlier than others, but I needed to see it happen. He should have been let go at the end of last season.

The Rustled Athletic Bowl was it for me. I honestly couldn't believe what I was seeing in that game.

Then, like a Godsend, Bill O'Brien took the Houston Texans' job, and I was on Cloud 9 because I thought we were going to get rid of him at no cost to the school. I was crushed when PSU's AD hired James Franklin.

Al has some good qualities, but he just isn't a very good head football coach. His schemes are horrendous and his inflexibility is disheartening.

Virginia Tech last year.

I guess that was Golden out there fumbling the balls on special teams...

Do I need to lay this out for some of you AGAIN?

VT scored 42 points on us that game. The highest total they had all season long was 45 vs Western Carolina, a 2-10 FCS team. Their next highest points total was 29 vs Marshall in 3 ots. They scored 27 vs UNC, 27 vs BC in a loss, 24 in a loss to Maryland, 19 vs Pitt, 17 vs GT, 16 vs VA. EAST ******* CAROLINA held them to 15. Duke held them to 10, in Blacksburg. Anyone going to argue that East Carolina had better defensive players than we did? The fumbles didn't have a **** thing to do with that loss. This is all on the staff. Golden will never win here, it's futile and pointless to think so.

The coaching search should have started the following Sunday.

Penn State kills us again. First in '86. The we hire an ex player, who they pass over for someone we could have hired.

I hate that school.
